" CARDIFF CITY SAY JANUARY WINDOW NOT IMPACTED "

Sat Jan 10, 2026 1:16 pm

Cardiff City are aware of reports this morning and wishes to clarify the situation.

The Club has no financial concerns. All necessary paperwork will be submitted in the coming days, this issue will be resolved and any embargo will be removed.

We wish to stress that this will not impact our January recruitment strategy

Of course it's not impacted.

No intention of getting anybody in before or after the "embargo".

Nothing's changed.

No explanation by the club - just basically saying we will be 2 weeks late getting our accounts in ( when every other club managed to do it ).On the pitch we are getting it right, off the pitch we are still poor.

Had to say that otherwise fans will start to wonder.
Just delays bringing in players for Brian Barry-Murphy.
Still you would expect everything to be up to date with the club and the EFL.
Since it was last season.

Should have said

"Unfortunately, somebody has noticed something on a website we were hoping nobody would see.

We are unwilling to give any explanation for this to the supporters trust or any paying customers who in our opinion are entitled to know as little as we can possibly get away with telling them.

The matter is now closed.

Next years season tickets will be on sale soon - don't forget to buy early!"

Exactly correct.

Ive ALWAYS said the board treat the fans with utter contempt.

It brings the statement to life that hope and trust comes in at walking pace and can exit like an express train.

I certainly hope it wont, but could this be a turning point where players, manager and fans actually see the light?

3pts today, for me personally, becomes even more vital

It is just embarrassing and shows a lack of professionalism. They knew the date they needed the accounts to be submitted. Gives fuel to the fans that the club is badly run.

Another question is ‘Where are the Supporters Trust (and maybe FAB) in all of this?

Excuse me, if it’s not part of their respective remits to be advised and/or involved in such things, but I thought the accountant (KM in the minutes) was?

Accounts have to be submitted at the same time, by every team in the league, EVERY season. How the f*ck do we miss the deadline?? Only at Cardiff City.

It probably wont impact the recruitment strategy, if their strategy is not to spend a penny.
Paperwork will probably be submitted in time for windows closure.
Well done Mr Tan, another masterstroke against your club and your own financial reputation. :banghead:

I would have more respect from the board if they just said we don’t want to spend any money. It makes you realize anyone can run a business when you got these 3 idiots as examples.

I don't think it will impact our recruitment strategy as we'll be only be getting a couple of people in on loan anyway. A complete mess again though pure incompetence
