Both goalkeepers are back and were moved out due to their high wages and the board would like to move them out again.
Ethan Horvath’s short-term loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday has concluded, meaning the United States international has technically returned to Cardiff. Horvath has been linked with potential moves to MLS, and Barry-Murphy was notably tight-lipped when asked about his future before Christmas.
It is understood that Horvath was deemed surplus to requirements at the start of the season, and with Nathan Trott enjoying a barnstorming campaign as first choice and academy graduate Matt Turner proving a capable understudy, it would be a surprise if that stance were to change.
Another familiar face back around the club is Jak Alnwick, who returned to training last month despite not featuring at all this season. Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin has publicly refused to rule out a move for the goalkeeper should he become available, adding further intrigue to a situation that may yet develop as the window progresses.
“Jak is a player I know," Goodwin said. "I signed him when he was at St Mirren. He got a good move down to Cardiff. He is a really good experienced goalkeeper, but right now we are happy with what we have got."
So where does that leave Cardiff in terms of strengthening? Speaking after Sunday’s 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic, Barry-Murphy suggested the priority remains on finding the right pathways for younger players, rather than overseeing a major overhaul.

Kucherenko leaves Dundee United
Dundee United have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Yevhenii Kucherenko.
The Ukrainian goalkeeper has signed for Greek Super League side Panetolikos on a permanent deal, six months after joining the Tannadice Park club.
This leaves a space open for the potential transfer of Cardiff City keeper, Jak Alnwick, who has been linked with Dundee recently.

Neither of Horvath or Alnwick can play in this team because they're not good enough with their feet.

I think i was in the few who thought Horveth was better than Alnwick. Horveth had the odd mare but was a decent shot stopper whereas Alnwick never made anything other than regulation saves. Trott has been amazing but i think we forgot that keeper made saves before he arrived.

I thought Alnwick is a decent back second choice. Hovarth not for me, it's great to have a keeper that is a difference maker. Trott should be the number 1 priority in the summer he adds so much to this team

think there’s a clause in the loan deal that we buy him if promoted

We're doing fine without both. Horvath has had awful reports from Sheff Wed fans (where to be fair, he was probably cannon fodder)
3rd and 4th choice on Championship wages. Get rid immediately.

We don't need them but It's what clubs do isolate players because of wages and tell them to go although there not exactly going to go if there on good coin so I don't blame them in a way and other clubs don't want them until now in This window maybe. Alnwick rumoured to be going to Dundee as stated but since when did they pay high wages there getting gates of div 2 clubs

Surely jak Alnwick not on much he’s not even that good?

Jak wasn't moved out due to high wages, Jak was given leave due to personal reasons.
