Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy's three-word response to Strasbourg job links
By Glen Williams

Brian Barry-Murphy has played down links with Strasbourg amid yet more reports that suitors are interested in prising the Cardiff City boss away from the fantastic job he is overseeing in the Welsh capital.

Barry-Murphy oversaw yet another victory in front of a home crowd, their eighth home win in a row which is their best return since 2012, to maintain a three-point lead at the top of League One.

The impressive job he has done at Cardiff has seen him linked with the likes of Middlesbrough and Celtic in recent months, while there was also tentative talk of him potentially being recruited by Strasbourg should Liam Rosenior leave.

Rosenior is thought to be the leading candidate to replace Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, which would leave the French side in need of a new boss. However, when quizzed on those Strasbourg links, Barry-Murphy simply replied: "I love Cardiff." :bluebird: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

That sort of response will no doubt delight owner Vincent Tan - and it's not the only aspect of the day which will put a smile on the Malaysian's face.

A nice reply from him but I'd expect him to move on if a bigger club came in, that's just how football works.

But I'd be surprised if he went before next season, and that's at the earliest.

He is similar to Kieran McKenna, whose reputation has not been tarnished by staying at Ipswich. He will be in a good bargaining position for an upgraded deal in the summer if we carry the job through. Vinny will be happy to extend and back him as he is money in the bank at the moment.

Realistically where would he go? Brighton, Bournemouth or Fulham would have squads he could work the summer with.

League 1, with this group of kids has been perfect for him. It took around 20 games for this system to settle and some premier keague clubs will have 2 managers in that period.

I can't see him leaving for another few seasons
