A forum for all things Cardiff City

Brian Barry-Murphy:
“We would have liked to have scored more goals and to make it more comfortable near the end. It would have been nice to give the supporters what they wanted, but the efforts of the players in the past two weeks to win three and draw one over this ten-day period is something that I’m very grateful for.
“The challenge for us is that we want to create enough excitement in the stadium to give the supporters what they want and score the goals to make the end of the game easier. Wigan are very good at what they do, which is to sit deep and frustrate teams, and they've had a lot of success doing that. The longer the game goes on and the longer you haven't got the second goal, there's always that element of they could score, and then all of a sudden it becomes a difficult day.
“It’s been brilliant for us playing at home this season. We want to continue the good form we’ve got here, and every time we play at Cardiff City Stadium, we want to keep playing the way that we want to play, to keep scoring goals, and to keep clean sheets. To continue this run is very important in order to help us to where we want to be.
“It’s important for us to focus on ourselves and to keep improving all the time. I’m so pleased with the players and how they are doing just that. I feel very lucky to be with them and managing them. They are so dedicated and focused on being in the best possible conditions for these games, and that’s been reflected in our performances.
“We’re looking forward to finally having a rest day tomorrow and then we will be back in on Tuesday to prepare for Leyton Orient, which should be a cracker going off what happened in the corresponding fixture at home.”

Very professional performance from a young team.
1-0 up 5 mins to go and Robertson just standing there with his foot on the ball goading them to come to him and have the balls just to wait there
Its one hell of a leap from direct football to BBM and the players have adapted better than the fans (me included)

yes it was only 1.0 but that last ten minutes i never doubted we were go8ng to drop points, closing a game out is an art and bbm is instilling it in the youngsters

I think that's the thing, it's hard for some fans to grasp because it's so different to what we've seen.
I do think fans are understanding it more and more each week.
By next season, I think all fans will be fully understanding of what we do and why. This style is very hard to stop.
