" A difficult part of the season cleared "

Sun Jan 04, 2026 4:53 pm

The Christmas and New Year fixtures are always a big test for all teams.

Thankfully we've got through it with some great results and still top of the league.

Today was dominant and everyone will agree we deserved to win.

Would have been nice to score some more goals, Wigan's goalkeeper kept it at 1-0 as well as a couple of missed chances we should have took.

4-0 wouldn't have flattered us.

Brilliant goal by Chambers.

Now nine home wins in a row in the league.

All that mattered for me today was 3 points, I'm sure we will click in front of goal soon and once we do we will hammer teams

Another 3 points, top of the league and our home ground is a fortress. We are in an excellent position heading into the second half of the season

It's true we could we getting a few more goals but what a display of sheer dominance that was.
For us not to go up automatically it would take a catastrophic drop in form. Gap starting to open us now with us and Lincoln at the top

I can’t remember watching a game so one sided and completely dominated by one team as this game today.

The business end of the season is always the run-in, so the real test will be how this squad manages that period. There are some key fixtures coming up, particularly Bradford away and Lincoln at home. If positive results are achieved in those games, it’s hard to see anyone stopping this team.

This isn’t hindsight either, as I mentioned in earlier posts, the way Chambers is leading this side shows he’s a cut above anything else in the league. He looks noticeably fitter and stronger than last season, which again reflects huge credit to BBM, not only for developing young players but also for how effectively he’s managed and maximised the senior pros.

A team full of midfielders but what a weird watch. Well done Wigan fans for that was possibly the most horrific negative performance I have seen for many a year. You'd never think we were in the same division the way they approached it.

Very professional from our young team

Three wins, a draw and one loss, I will take that.
Yet the difficult part of the season is from now to the end and especially Easter
