Whilst I can see why he thinks his ‘
suck the life out of the game’ tactics might have got his side at least a point, he is deluded (guess he had to be) to say we scored ‘
against the run of play’!
Neither my eyes, nor the ‘
stats’, support that one-eyed view!

I can't believe he really believed they deserved anything from the game.

Strange that; the stats suggest we had 67% possession in the second half and it was one way traffic with Cardiff once they scored the opener and BBM made the usual effective changes.
Sour grapes!!
Tue Dec 30, 2025 10:08 am
Guy has lost his marbles. Until we scored the second they only came out of their own half a few times. Dreadful side to watch which had the sole intention of trying to steal a point.
Tue Dec 30, 2025 10:12 am
Not just him. Stevenage fans and the commentators are all under the impression they deserved more. Looking at the stats I really can’t understand how they think they deserved at least a point? What a strange club.

Robbed he needs to set teams up to win matches to be robbed

Go on the league 1 fan page on Facebook and read the Stevenage fan comments. They all think they were unlucky and we struggled to beat them over the 2 games. The stats say we controlled both games with ease!

Thats hilarious. What world is he living in?!?!?
Tue Dec 30, 2025 10:48 am
He needs a bit more salt to go with his bitter lemon and sour grapes.

What game was he watching Came for a draw Grabbed a goal against the play and then lost One shot and hardly an possession Sometimes managers say stupid things and this is one of them
Tue Dec 30, 2025 10:54 am
He needs to put the drink down.
Imagine playing for the draw at home and away to a promotion rival.
What an embarrassing boring way to play.

I kinda get where he is coming from, purely from his "rope a dope" tactics.
For all the stats, we didn't have a shot on target by H/T. Whether it was Stevenage smothering us or our inability to do anything quickly, they handled us. Then they get the breakaway goal from their only shot on target, it's the hope that kills you !!!
I doubt many of us were that distraught when they scored, we can score goals, and there was a lot of time left.
Our subs killed them. We were doubling up on both wings and Wintle and Turnbull pulled them all over the pitch, after 60 mins they were running on fumes.
Our manager knows what he is doing with this sqaud, Revell has worked wonders with a far less capable sqaud. We have played them twice a had similar games and results. There is no fluke or robbery in that.

I get where he is coming from, Salech on most replays looks offside, however we've had so many against us, we were due one in our favour
loads on here saying how we dominated the ball etc, I do recall last season the vast majority kept saying about stats and possession meant nothing unless you scored, thankfully we did, but lets be honest, if we drew last night, most would be moaning we did nothing with the ball
Tue Dec 30, 2025 1:36 pm
They were awful and we thoroughly deserved the win even though we wasn't at our best attacking wise, but anything other than a cardiff win would've been a travesty

Deluded comes to mind

Revell is clearly referring to our offside goal and their disallowed goal.
I still have no idea why their goal was disallowed. It wasn't handball and there was definitely no foul on Trott, who missed the ball with nobody touching him.
The decisions went for us for once, but we lost our concentration at a set piece again to nearly throw the game away.

Is he?
What I read is that he said they "deserved more" and "Cardiff scored against the run of play".
As for their disallowed goal, some have suggested that he was always going to give a foul because he realised too late that it shouldn't have been a corner in the first place.
You see that a lot, a referee trying to correct their own mistake.

99% sure it shouldn't have been a corner for the disallowed goal anyway. Looked to me like Bagan got out of the way of the shot

Must have shit in his eyes. Thing is when you play like this hardly any shots or posses, it really stings when decisions etc go against you cause you don't make enough chances to get it back
Like ATM for Cardiff, even though im not happy we dont turn enough possession into more chances on goal, still feel we are going to keep going forward and making things happen

Definitely this. Or when we were in the prem and we were ‘robbed’ against Chelsea. This is based on the offside goal. (It was miles offside). The stats were similar to Stevenage game.
But you can see his point when you think his team were beaten by an offside goal.
Other way we would be fuming (as we were).
