Were we fortunate?

Mon Dec 29, 2025 11:29 pm

Just seen the goals again and Salech looked suspiciously offside.

Also, Stevenage seemed to have a perfectly good goal disallowed. I'm assuming it was disallowed for hand ball, but having watched it again, it looks like he controlled the ball with his chest before scoring.

I'm not complaining as plenty of decisions have gone against us already this season to cost us points.

It's yet another example of the standard of officiating being nowhere near good enough at this level.

Clearly, we deserved the win, nobody can deny that. I feel Stevenage can feel hard done by with key decisions going against them though.

I think the whistle had already gone for a foul on Trott when theirs was disallowed & that's why our players had stopped, there was certainly no handball there. Not sure what other key decisions you feel went against them as they refused to play football for most of the game.

I didn't see any foul on Trott either, so I assumed it was disallowed for hand ball.

I was just referring to those two decisions, Salech's goal and their disallowed goal.

Stevenage time wasted a lot, but we have to accept that in this league against smaller teams.

There were times in the Premier League we tried running down the clock away to the big teams to get a result and none of us complained, so as frustrating as it was for us at the time, I have no problem with that.

I agree, the goal was ruled out for the foul on Trott. Also didn't think Salech was offside for his goal - although the camera angle isn't perfect to be honest.

We were unfortunate with decisions, particularly the referee not waiting 30 seconds of match play before letting the Stevenage player back on - which is pretty basic for a referee to know.

At the ground, I thought the ‘goal’ was disallowed for ‘handball’, but having watched it over again, it was clearly the foul on Nathan Trott; and the whistle had gone before the ball was put into the net!

Equally, I saw little wrong with either of our goals (or their one that did count) :ayatollah:

Foul was given well before the player chested it down. I did wonder if the ref give a free kick after realising it shouldn't have been a corner to begin with. If I remember right it was a shot that didnt look like it took a deflection and Bagan jumped out of the way.

Salech definitely looked offside from the camera angle from the highlights . We will take that one
