Callum Robinson

My MOTM tonight.

Been critical in the past but he was very good, his best game for a while.

Great work to follow up his own shot for his goal.

But he just did everything well and worked hard.

We all have different opinions, and that's fine.

Turnbull was good but I pick Robinson.

He was certainly much better tonight than in the past but not mom for me.

To be fair, I may be biased because it was just nice to see him working hard.

He lost the ball in possession so many times, apart from scoring he was poor

Agree 100%

Turnbull MOTM for me aswell, thought he controlled the midfield well tonight and slick passing got us out of a few situations

I thought Robinson had a fantastic game. As I said on the other post. He looks like a different player this season.
His work rate is amazing.
The commentators on the Stevenage channel were waxing lyrical about him.
One of them literally said to the other "What would you do to have Callim Robinson in the team"

However I also thought Turnball had a fantastic game too
That goal and performance against Chelsea appears to have done him the world of good and boosted his confidence

Yep I heard that comment and they genuinely wanted a Robinson in the team. However I felt both callus were outstanding tonight thought chambers shored up a lot of leaks in defence

Turnbull had a decent game, the commentators on the Cardiff feed said he was outstanding so he must have been MoM.

With the way Kpakio and Kellyman influenced the game it’d be tempting to give it to one of them.

It was a deserved win, their game plan was to contain us, and with better finishing we’d have got a lot more goals tonight, they scored with their only attempt on goal. It wasn’t as close a game as the scoreline suggests

Fair play to Stevenage. I thought they were very organised and defended well. Offered a bit of a threat too.
Deserved win for us though

I feel a bit sorry for Callum.Since he arrived here he has been under a vareity of managers that wanted a Salech type rather than his mobile, buzzy, making runs in behind kind of striker. He is the most instinctive striker at the club by a long way.

Then, eventually he found a manager who suits his skillset, but father time and injuries have caught up and he is no longer that player.

He played well last night, not my MoM, he keeps losing the ball when he comes deep as he can't play back to goal, Davies is the same whereas Ashford and Willock don't spill it as often. But he played well last night, we rarely play well when he starts, he is a luxury as he doesn't offer that much off the ball, but if we need a goal he's the best sub on the bench by a long way.

Agree with a lot of that.

Turnbull for me, even though some thicko behind me shouted “Turnbull you prick” after 30 seconds of the game kicking off. Some of our fans are brainless morons.

Always a few thicko's ready to jump in and slag off one or two of our squad.
Looking back a few months ago, many were doubting players like Chambers, Willock and Turnbull, but all have proved themselves as valuable players in this squad so far this season.

Agree. I am not a big fan of his. And I noticed that we seem to have a similar view about him.But in fairness last night he played a lot better than for most of the season. Not MoM, but worth his place in the line up. Normally, he is, and should be, on the bench. I must admit I would be quite happy if he left, as I trust BBM to get a decent replacement (I believe his wages are high?!?).
In the first half he actually made a couple of proper challenges as well. If he closed down and challenged and competed more then he would be a far more valuable team member.

That was me and it was ‘Underhill’ not Turnbull’.

In that case, factually accurate.

It’s always been the same mate. On here probably the same thicko’s love a scapegoat. They’re usually proved wrong.

As you say, in recent times it’s was Chambers who people were saying - ‘he’s never a centre half’, Ashford - ‘he’s league two at best’, Turnbull, even Mark Hudson had it for quite a long time when he first joined us.
