" A great way to end 2025 "

Another three points at home, a great way to end 2025.

I thought it was a fully deserved win, we dominated the majority of the game.

Stevenage came to frustrate and took the lead with a wonder goal. They were constantly time wasting.

But we stepped it up and got the win we deserved.

There's a top 3 forming with us 9 points ahead of 4th and 11 to 7th.

Excellent win. Stevenage are a nightmare.

If they cut out the time wasting they would be much better because they can actually play quite well when the bother to try. Their goal was a good example of that.

A great win tonight and shows the resilience, fight and togetherness that the manager has built into this young squad.

The game panned out pretty much as expected, with the Bluebirds trying to make the game, and Stevenage playing for the draw, and the possibility of a ‘steal’; and it almost worked!

I actually predicted a draw, but thought the stat suggested it might be a narrow win for us; and so it proved

Stevenage were solid in defence, deliberate in their brazen attempts to slow the game down at every opportunity, whilst pushing forward when they could, to ‘nick’ a goal they felt might win the game

I felt the referee was wise to them, particularly in the second half, and a lofty 10 minutes of added time was clear evidence of that. Had we not taken the lead before the end of normal 90 minutes, it would have helped us, but it was a nervy finale, and one I felt we handled well to see out the game and get another valuable 3 points with closest rivals, Lincoln and Bradford, both winning their games to keep us honest at the top

Great to go into 2026 top of the league, and we have opportunities to both consolidate and increase our current top spot in the next few games

Happy New Year, and Happy Days! :ayatollah:

On looking back at the season so far, the way that the manager and coaching staff have turned things around since the disaster of last season is nothing but remarkable.
They had next to no money to play with and have galvanised the squad along with our brilliant young players with incredible results.
Their organisation and style of play is a pleasure to watch.
Also, when we do go a goal down, BBM seems to have the knack of making the right changes which often lift our game and turns a losing position into a win.
Very fortunate for the owner, Vincent Tan, of whom the supporter's campaign to remove seems to have gone very quiet!

Exactly how I see it. His man management skills should also be mentioned as we have this ‘never say die’ attitude and a togetherness I haven’t seen since Warnock was here.
