I was saying this before we took the lead and certainly before Caldwell suggested he was a 'big team/Stadium ref' that gave us everything.
He let the game flow, limited his cards which were all correct for me. No howlers, and for me the best we've had all season.

I think the standard of referring in league one looks better than the championship so far. We've had a few who've made iffy decisions but overall I think they are better.

I thought he appeared to favour us yesterday because we were trying to play and they were trying to stop.
Everyone has biases. If you want the game to flow and one is trying to play, I reckon that type of ref gives a few soft fouls.
If you think this is a man's game, he lets a few more physical challenges go. All even and fair, just an interpretation.
I think most of the issues have been about the refereeing of Salech, who appears to be learning that if he engages in contact with centre halfs before the ball comes to him, most refs let it go, which inevitably means he loses. He is finding space now and getting a few decisions.

Thought he was ok, but unless I missed something and he had already warned Bagan about time wasting I thought yellow card was harsh. A good ref who plays by common sense rather than being a stickler for the rules would have just said something along the lines of "waste as much time as you want but i will just add it on".
