There should be NO EXCUSES NOW:

Sun Dec 21, 2025 11:40 am

We are out of all Cup Competitions, We are not behind in fixtures and Our Squad know each other very well now and the class of our squad is way way higher than the majority of these Small Clubs in League 1 / Division 3.
They also have very young squads, but nothing like the Talent we have as ours are all from The Championship and have had great upbringings.

We are Top and where we should be, so we have achieved Xmas Top of the Table and Very Happy.
Strengthen in January and i believe we will be Top 2 come May 2026 :bluebird: :bluebird:

The Squad is exactly what BBM said he wanted and for me Now No Excuses, Automatic Promotion :bluebird:

We play very very small clubs week in week out and should not even be in this league.

The football is quality but we need to press more when we have possession.

We should be burying teams with the possession we have.

BBM:

“I want quality not quantity and prefer a small squad.”

"We have a very young group of players who will learn so much from that, in terms of how we chase the game, based on whatever scoreline we are facing.”

“The players played a really good game for us at Lincoln, dominated the first half but didn’t create a lot of chances.”

Top 2 finish would be great, don't want to say it yet, more than what I expected, would have happy to build come back up in a season or Two, but Cardiff under BBM have shown we are better than league One, Cardiff needs to keep these talented players to move into the Championship, my concerns are will Tan invest if we got there, still would have liked to see Bale take over, but, we are where are and fortunately they chose this time the right manager.

I think we will easily go on and gain automatic promotion. It’s pretty much the same squad that we started the season with and a lot were doubting we stay up again let alone make the play offs.

What bbm failed to add was we had. No answer when they changed formation after we equalised then they scored and we lost all our fight a plan B has been the only criticism we could throw at our manager we cannot slip to a 3rd defeat in a row boxing day .

Having seen the standard of refereeing in this division we just can't risk finishing in the play off positions.

Has to be automatic promotion.

It’s a brave call to say (quote) “easily go on and gain automatic promotion”, but I agree with you in the main!

We have surpassed the most reasonable of expectations at the start of this season. Our form, style, and general resilience, has improved gradually, so for me, the signs are that we ‘should really’ go on to regain our Championship status

I am not one who believes/demands a big recruitment in January, as I believe we already have a happy, settled squad, and the quality of players to see us through this season; notwithstanding some additions in fragile areas, where ‘cover’ is limited in event of injuries, e.g. left back, central attack, and maybe even a keeper (both of whom I am confident with but there’s always a ‘what if?

The poorly labelled ‘Tinkerman’ should be allowed to develop his squad in his image, as it is he who will be measured by his ‘success’ (or otherwise) come the season’s end; and don’t we know it! :laughing6: :ayatollah:

I'm delighted.

Being top at Christmas is a great marker.

Not many in pre-season thought we'd be in this position at this time in the year.

Puts us in a great position going into the second half of the season.

Not bad considering some were saying before the season started that we had no chance of promotion, a squad that was way too small, not enough experience and a manager who wasn't up to it so would be sacked by the winter.

Spot on; and it’s certainly gone rather quiet in some quarters! Long may it continue! :ayatollah:

Agree with you both.

I think we need a option in midfield in certain games a player who can boss the midfield someone like Ollie Norwood to give us an option just an opinion ??
