David Felgate was their goalkeeper in the early 1980s. A Welsh international but not sure how many caps he got.

KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | THE IMPS
Former City man James Collins is Lincoln City's top goalscorer in the league this term, but the forward will miss Saturday's game having suffered a long-term knee injury earlier this month, that is set to rule him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Another former Bluebird in Lincoln City's ranks is midfielder Dom Jefferies. Dom was with the Bluebirds until U14 level before joining Newport County, where he completed his scholarship. Spells with Salisbury and Brentford came, but it was with Gillingham that Dom really broke into the First Team in a professional side. Jefferies transferred to Lincoln City during the summer of 2024. He suffered some injury troubles himself at the start of the current campaign, but has since played five times after returning to action in early November. Dom's brother, Isaac, a talented young winger, is out-on-loan from the Bluebirds currently with The New Saints.

2025/26 Squad
GK | George Wickens, Zach Jeacock.
DEF | Tendayi Darikwa, Adam Reach, Lewis Montsma, Adam Jackson, Ryley Towler, Sonny Bradley, Tom Hamer, Dexter Lembikisa.
MID | Tom Bayliss, Conor McGrandles, Dom Jefferies, Ivan Varfolomeev, Finley Barbrook, Gbolahan Okewoye.
FOR | Reeco Hackett, James Collins, Jack Moylan, Oscar Thorn, Erik Ring, Rob Street, Ben House, Frankie Okoronkwo, Justin Obikwu, Freddie Draper.

Reading climb climb to 14th in #SkyBetLeagueOne after their 3-2 win vs Luton Town and are only 7 points off the play off sport

Luton Town stay 7th but have played 2/3/4 games more than other teams

Think it may have been 5. If I remember correctly it was against someone no longer in the league. One of those teams who come into the league for a few years and then drift back into the National League or below. Dagenham maybe?

Very tentative connection but there midfielder Dom Jeffries was with us as a kid up to when he was 14 I believe. His brother Issac is on loan at TNS from our academy.

It was 5 goals in a single game, when Gavin Gordon became the first Bluebird player to score five against league opposition in almost 70 years; although the game itself was versus Rushden & Diamonds in the LDV Vans Trophy

He was a big, strong guy, who I liked as a player, but he should have done way better than he did in his time here, as I don’t recall him scoring too many goals away from that one game

Mind you, we had ‘Earnie’ and Peter ‘Magic Hat’ Thorne up front back then, so that won’t have helped him! :ayatollah:

In the 1998/9 season, they had 5 players who played for Cardiff City at some time in their career: Charlie Oakway, Leo Fortune-West, Phil Stant, Gavin Gordon, Jason Perry, and Gareth Ainsworth, but he left in the 1996/97 season

The total number of goals he scored for Cardiff was 5 -6 max, and the only game he played in that 5 goals were scored was against Gillingham when he came on as a sub for Peter Thorne late in the game. Ernie scored 4, and Thorne scored the
other One when we beat Gillingham 5-0

Sorry my mistake I forgot about this game

Cardiff 7-1 Rushden
Gavin Gordon staked a claim for a place in the Cardiff first team by notching up five goals against Rushden & Diamonds in an LDV Vans Trophy rout.
Brian Talbot's men had no answer to a Bluebirds side containing 11 changes from the team that drew 2-2 with Wigan in their last outing.

Mark Bonner opened the scoring after six minutes and substitute Martyn Giles came on for Leyton Maxwell before netting the other in the 79th minute.

But the night belonged to Gordon who put in a superb performance to hit the target on 12, 32, 38, 69 and 80 minutes.

Diamonds new-boy Paul Hall beat the offside trap to grab a consolation goal in the 72nd minute for the well beaten Third Division side.

Cardiff:Kendall, Thompson, Young, Hughes, Brazier, Hamilton, Bonner, Maxwell, Low, Gordon, Nugent. Subs: Jones, Giles, Collins, Fish, Anthony.

Rushden & D'monds: Turley, Underwood, Peters, Rodwell, Sambrook, Talbot, Mills, Hall, Hanlon, Lee, Folan. Subs: Burgess, Carey, Pennock, Setchell, Bell.

Referee: P Armstrong (Thatcham)

We go to Lincoln with confidence, and the opportunity to take another team out of the equation (for now at least) and we have the players to do the job!

I’ve gone for a Bluebird win in the poll, but a point to keep our unbeaten run going would not be a disaster! :ayatollah:

1984 League 3 Lincoln were top and we were second. Besides filling out their away end we also filled out their Grandstand A.

We took the lead with a tap in from Dave Bennett after a cracking volley from 20 yards by Jimmy Mullen. This was in front of the home supports where Bennett celebrated at the corner flag. While surrounded by his team mates he gave a wanker sign to the home supports, well to one particular supporter there. That supporter was me.

I was serving in the military up in Lincoln at the time and got a ticket in the home end. Last thing I wanted to be was seen with the Cardiff thugs those day. In the military getting caught with such people you dont get a clap of the wrists but you end up in a military prison. Not a good idea.

Sadly we lost the game 2-1 but we did go up that season while Lincoln faded away. 2 seasons later we were back in the division 3 where we played Lincoln again. This time the story is a total opposite as we were firmly on the bottom with Lincoln is the relegation spots. The result was totally opposite to were we ran out 4-0 winners. It was not enough to stop us having a double relegation.

Would definitely take a point, only us and Bolton have more points than Lincoln at home.
