Referee rating - marks out of ten

We had a Premier League referee tonight and I actually thought he got every call spot on.

Maybe the yellow for Chambers was harsh, so I'll say 9.

Tony Harrington was the referee.

Probably harsh but I thought the first booking was very harsh; particularly given some of the antics that went on later in the first half, and those of Caisedo, who put Tom Daly to shame at times!

Was pretty consistent in the second half and in no way can we blame him for an unusually positive defeat!

Chelsea commited endless fouls early on without one booking. Isaac Davies gets one challenge slightly wrong and he's booked straight away. That pissed me off so it's a 4 from me.

He wasn't that good in all honesty, thought he got a lot of decisions wrong even for Chelsea and was very inconsistent

At one point, the stats read fouls conceded: Cardiff 3, Chelsea 7, yet the bookings were Cardiff 2, Chelsea 1. What really stood out was that on at least three occasions, the ref gave free kicks for Chelsea fouls and chose only to have a word with their players. Plenty of warnings, but no cards — until Davies was eventually booked. That inconsistency is hard to square.

I gave him a 7 but I think the ref we had on Saturday was much better & much fairer to both sides.

This guy pandered to the big guys a little too much at the start by letting them get away with fouls without any cards & then booking our players straight away. It set the tone for the whole game for me.

Gave him 5 he blew up the first 10 times for chelsea fowls not 1 booked, then he booked 2 of ours.

I vote on consistency rather than individual events; they are human, and they make mistakes.

I thought, like Monty, that he was inconsistent as it appeared to favour the Premier League team.

I gave a 5.

I also thought Saturday's ref was better in a tougher game. He was a bit theatrical, but you could see the logic in his decisions

I get the comments about inconsistency.

I guess he knows the Chelsea players better because he's refereed them before. That could be a factor.

Not an excuse for the defeat as Chelsea class did get the better of us, but we there now seems to be different rules for the Premier league and yesterday the Premier rules were being enforced. Couldn't wait to book our players early on but let a foul on Ashford go unpunished

Gave a 7. Think he got every decision right in terms of if it's a foul or not, the cards for our players were ridiculous though.
