They saw the way we played against a Champions League team and are impressed.
Obviously promotion is the name of the game.
But if we do that, we will have to work very hard to keep BBM at the club.

100% agree! He will surely want to build on a squad he has moulded into an exciting one with high potential for the future!

Hope you’re right and he does stay as he see things here as a long term project which is exciting for him as a manger/coach but.
On the other hand if a big club comes in for him there’s very, very few managers who wouldn’t leave.

The new style of play needs to be engrained throughout the club, all the way down to the U9’s. Get all age groups trying to play the same way so that there’s a conveyor belt of players coming through ready to replace your Lawlors, Kpakios etc when they get sold for big bucks. Just like Southampton, Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford and even Swansea has done during their successful periods.

To be fair the academy even when my boy was in the academy nearly 15 years ago they play the same way and have continued to do so The issue was the first team never played the same style and many years were wasted Managers of first teams usually only interested in players around or near first team squad

My worry is mid table championship sides who can offer a lot more money than we are offering. He might like the project but it’s a short career and there’s no loyalty in football. We drop down the league with 6 losses and people will be calling him the tinker man and wanting him gone.

A medium sized club are the most likely in my opinion. A team like Norwich or West Brom that’s struggling in the championship this season would likely take a punt on him given the chance. BBM is not proven but his ability to work with the academy will be very appealing to a lot of clubs.

If he achieves all of that, he won’t need a ‘medium’ club, he’ll be at a ‘big’ one!![]()

Define a big club.
Man City have managers from abroad albeit he has a link there
Arsenal no chance
Liverpool no chance
Chelsea got a manager from Leicester granted but that’s a level in between here BBM is now
Spurs went for a manager who has been mid table prem for a long time
Villa doubt it
Newcastle doubt it
Everton seem to go for experience more
The next level of size club are Brighton, Brentford, Fulham, West Ham, Bournemouth, Forest would look at a manager performing top level of championship. We might be there next year or BBM might get an offer to get there a bit quicker.

Oh dear, mate! It was just a ‘fun’ reaction to your post that appeared to demean our ability to keep our manager under certain circumstances!![]()
We’re already a ‘big’ club, albeit a currently ‘dormant’ one, and in club terms we are the biggest club in League One, on a par with any currently in the Championship, and at least as ‘big’ as 7 or 8 of the current Premier League!
I believe in my club, it’s potential, and it’s support when things are aligning, and I firmly believe we could hold our own in the Premier League, whilst appreciating you (and some others) like to ‘knock back’ one of your clubs whenever you can
For me, 33000+ people in a ‘sold out’ stadium, is all the evidence I need to know I support (at least potentially) a ‘big’ club!
BLOOOOBIRDS!

I think it's too soon for a big prem club to come in for him
As someone else said on here I'd be more worried about a Brentford or Brighton coming in for him as he would be perfect for clubs run the way they are
I'm not sure if it was true but I remember something being said about malky turning down Everton because he wanted to continue his work with us, so I'm just hoping BBM does something similar if those clubs come knocking
I doubt he would leave us for a championship club unless it's one that's just got relegated from the prem and looking to go back up

Malky had a good agent. No way bigger clubs were in for him else they would have snapped him up after he left us.

What championship jobs would be seen as an upgrade at this point (considering only struggling teams are likely to change the manager). Wrexham might be a concern. Small club but a big budget and lots of exposure, plus BBM's wife is a presenter so from a family perspective I'm sure that could do something for her career too
