" Can't remember being this proud of a City team "

Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:58 pm

Chelsea are into the semi finals, good luck to them.

But we are the real winners of the night.

We played our normal game against a top four Premier League team and tested them.

Honestly can't remember being this proud of a City team.

Well done to every single one of them, I'm so proud :bluebird:

Absolutely awesome effort and really had a go at them and 3-1 flattered them massively. If this can't push us on this season then nothing can

Completely agree, normally lower league teams play a low block and rough it up, but we played good football and with a bit of luck it could have gone our way

Agree, and the scoreline flattered them. Now let's go on and blow this league away.

What a performance from this young team .
They went toe to toe with Chelsea who brought on some world class players with the quality and it payed in the end .
They give it everything and thats all you can ask for a city team..take that into the league now.
Those young players are learning all the time .
One poor pass the only dull moment he will learn.

Super proud of us tonight excellent performance and energy

Incredibly proud. What a great advert for the club. Great to see Turnbull having his moment. Cracking goal too.

Well said, Worcester.
Hopefully, many if the new fans who turned up tonight will return for matches in the second half of the season.

This team along with the manager deserves the support. :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Fantastic performance. We were allowed to play decent football against a top team.
And showed what a great footballing side we are

I thought we more than matched them tonight, i actually thought they played a lot of long balls, I also thought after we equalised we were well on top and the injury to trott took the heat out of it, but great performance from the lads and hope they put in a similar performance Saturday

It was the result I expected against a team with a squad value of £1b But for long periods of the game it was hard to say who were the premier team.
Very proud that the team continued with the style of play we have become use too. Lawlor did not hide after his mistake and hats off to the kid.
The whole team did us proud today and only points to a brighter future for us

I echo every comment...We lost, but somehow we didn't

All season i thought we were good but against below average league 1 teams.
Tonight and against Wrexham we've shown we have quality and I expect us to make an impact in the Championship. I believe the last month as shown we're going up.
Brain Barry Murphy is what we've been asking for

I have never left the ground after a loss as happy as I did last night. We stood toe to toe with a team two leagues higher than us and played our style of football.

We have an identity, players that fight for the badge and a manager that is second to none.

Long may it continue.

I echo all comments here, what a performance. Sky posted a stat that we now have the highest possession rate in all leagues, I know possession means nothing unless it's productive but here we are with that fact and building an identity of also being productive whilst keeping the ball. Boys did us and themselves proud last night and the pundits were singing our praises all night in a game watched by many.

Yes it was an impressive performance. Only flaw was we gave them the first goal.

They up their game in the 2nd half by bringing on their more experienced players. For them to be forced into that was down to us. It was a great goal we scored to get back into the game and richly deserved. We just ran out of team in the end but most would say up to then who was the Premier side.

It took 80 minutes for the world club cup winners to finally see us off after we went toe to toe with them and matched them for large periods.

If there are any doubters about the manager and the potential of some of these young players then surely last night has swayed them. I admit I was one at the start of the season but not anymore.

We play some great football, we're winning games and half of the team are young local academy products.

Personally that's all I ever wanted for Cardiff and this time it feels like we're finally onto something special.

It took 90+ 3 minutes in my eyes!
