From Matt Lawton, The Times:
Mercedes Taffarel, the mother of Emiliano Sala, has issued a statement this evening following yesterday’s hearing in Nantes. For legal reasons I can’t quote it all but she said:
“I was unfortunately not able to join the trial as my flight was cancelled. Hearing about the way FC Nantes pleaded its case is repulsing. All I want is for justice to be done.”

Meanwhile the Daily Mail has on it's webpage an article that says "grubby" Cardiff's claim for £100m from Nantes is "delusional" and "an insult to the family".
The article itself is behind a pay wall and I'm fucked if I'm ever going to give a penny to that piece of shit rag.
They have slagged the club off relentlessly since the day of the tragedy.
I wouldn't even wipe my arse with the Daily Mail.

Regardless of the outcome
This has gone on for way too long.
And I feel more for the fact his mother can't put this all too rest than the financial loss or gain from either club.
It was her son.
Not a pawn to play in a ongoing court case over money
Both need to get over it and move on.

Poor woman, so many years on and the case is still open. Must be awful for her.

100% Agree
7 years on and both denying liability
This is disgraceful
RIP Sala

The case is money driven, but the outcome is important for the sport.
If Nantes are held liable, ignoring the financial implications Cardiff will get, this highlights the crooked nature of the agents and their dealings. This will merely highlight what needs to change to stop it ever happening again.

Be very interesting this outcome after every Court went against Tan.
Tan has taken a private / civil court case here.
It finally must come to an end.

French Newspaper L'Equipe reporting on the Sala hearing. No doubt Sala's mother is endorsing the Cardiff City case.
Mercedes Taffarel, Emiliano Sala's mother, followed remotely the substantive hearing held Monday before the Nantes commercial court concerning the dispute between the French club and Cardiff City.
She strongly criticized FC Nantes and its "negligence," in what she called their handling of this painful case.
She had planned to attend the substantive hearing held Monday afternoon before the Nantes Commercial Court in the commercial and legal dispute between Cardiff City and FC Nantes concerning the tragic transfer of Emiliano Sala.
However, as reported by L'Équipe , Mercedes Taffarel, the mother of the Argentinian player who died in an accident in January 2019, was unable to travel to France due to the cancellation of her flight.
She therefore followed the proceedings remotely, thanks to messages sent by an interpreter present in the courtroom near Cardiff's legal team.
And she strongly criticized the defense presented by the lawyers for the Loire-Atlantique club. "The way FC Nantes pleaded its case is outrageous ," she stated in a declaration released on Tuesday. "
Willie McKay used his son (Mark, the agent mandated by Nantes for this €17 million transfer) to close a lucrative deal even though his license had been revoked. FC Nantes claims not to be responsible, which is scandalous. The negligence of FC Nantes and its agent at the time cost my son his life. All I want is for justice to be served."
As a reminder, Cardiff City is claiming more than €120 million from FC Nantes in this dispute, citing "damages suffered" and a "loss of opportunity" (and income) after the premature loss of its Argentinian "asset", who never got to play for the Bluebirds.
While Cardiff City wants to directly link this tragedy to Willie McKay's pivotal role in the case, Nantes firmly rejects this hypothesis, denouncing the Welsh club's "legal harassment ."
They also explain that the controversial Scottish agent was "not the organizer" of the flight that killed Emiliano Sala, that the agent was indeed Mark McKay —and not his father—and that "questions surrounding Willie McKay are irrelevant to resolving the dispute ."
In response, FC Nantes has requested one million euros in compensation for "moral damages ."
The court's decision in this case before the commercial court is scheduled for March 30 .

I’m not following it much so others may know better than me. But it seems from above she wants this to go to court and fully supports our stance on this. Fair play to the club for following this up if that is the case.
