Thankfully, he’s more than happy at the CCS, although a move to high-flying Oxford might just upset the apple cart, eh? :ayatollah:

Best striker in the league

Come on Mike say how he's not the best. Doesn't do a lot apart from mis-head it and poor touch etc :laughing6:

Beautiful assist for Isaac’s goal too. He’s fast becoming a club legend

You don’t think he would go to a high championship side?

Oxford are higher than Cardiff currently. Eh??

The latter bit looks temporary ( :laughing6: ) but on a serious note, I don’t know what the obsession is with ‘wishing’ our better players are moved our? :?

I’m confident we will keep the current squad intact for the remainder of this season, and with a couple/few additions, we could find no one ‘wants’ to leave come the summer, where BBM can continue to build for the future! :ayatollah:

Who wishes our better players are moved out? Certainly not me. I’m happy we have players who are being looked at for sure.

Temporary? Who knows. It will take us going up and the other us doing down to make that happen for sure. If one us goes up and the other us stays up it will be tough for these players to move up into the championship.

His best performance of the season so far.

His movement was better, his flick ons were very good and he's learning how to bully the CB's rather than getting bullied like he's been prior to today.

I do stand by what I've said about his previous performances this season but hopefully this is the start of better performances

This is what you get when you hang balls up at the back post for him... Also the header to Davies was class

We've been doing that all season, in fact we did it less today than we've done in most games so far.

Why are so many of our fans blinkered when it comes to Salech :banghead:

I'm a big fan of him but he has missed a lot of big chances, think it was about 16 last time I checked.

But it does really bother me when people say we don't cross the ball to him because all season that has been factually untrue.

Thanks Ned. That is what really annoys me and the reason for my "blinkered" comment. In many fans eyes, he can do no wrong.

His xg is 10 he's scored 9. I'm not sure how many you think he should be on ... I think it should be a couple more, but he's done pretty well

He should be on a lot more. As Ned (Worcester) posted, he's missed 16 big chances this season.

The comments about him not converting crosses are laughable!!

There have been plenty of crosses in to the box but often nowhere near to Salech. Ashford is the main culprit but others too.

Don’t be guided by stats, watch the game. Our crossing in open play and dead balls has been disappointing to say the least. From full backs to wingers there is massive room for improvement still. If we can improve in that area then Salech will get 25-30 this season !!!!!

Re: " League One's top goalscorer "

Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:56 pm

Without salech up top we would struggle badly, yes he's missed big chances but if he didn't he would be playing for Man City and not Cardiff city, he's a top quality striker at this level and easily good enough for the championship and is young so will only get better, absolutely vital we keep hold of him

Totally agree. We put lots of crosses in therefore he should score is no different than Tans logic of just shoot more

You dont undersrand this stat. All the best goalscorers have a high 'big chances missed'. You worry if that is low, not high. If its high with a poor conversion rate, also a concern; but that is not the case, is it?

Haaland has missed 15 big chances in less games. Salechs stats are in excellent company.

So he should be on about 25 by now then. Not asking for much

Re: " League One's top goalscorer "

Could have had more today. I was getting very frustrated with Ashford because there were times today where he made really good runs and got behind the defender and could have whipped in a first time cross but instead he has to take a touch! Gives the defenders time to get back. If Ashford can improve on that he will get a ton of assists and Salech would score a lot more.

Isn't it great to be arguing about how many goals he has scored rather than all of us complaining that we need a proven goal scorer like we have the last few seasons with us not scoring. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

If we go off stats, Turnbull has our second highest assists and is our most creative midfielder.

I actually don’t think that, but the stat backs up the statement

Personally, I don’t understand the criticism of Salech.

Yes he could hold the ball up better at times, he misses the odd chance but he’s pretty new to the country and still young and learning.

We’ve been crying out for a striker like Salech for years.
I for one, I’m happy with him!
