BBM: Naive to think there aren't clubs watching our players

Thu Dec 04, 2025 1:12 pm

BBM:

“Yeah, we don’t have to sell any players. That’s not changed. And from my point of view, I hope they all stay!

It would be naïve to think there wouldn't be clubs watching those young players and being interested in what happens.

Nothing’s changed from my point of view in terms of how important those players are for our club and how much opportunity we feel we can give them to play, which is always the most important thing.

I’ve been at clubs where I’ve been on the other side of this – where the big clubs come and take those players because they can offer them a lot more, especially in the current climate.

But if we can show those players, and the ones already playing at first-team level, that we can give them regular opportunities, then it carries a lot of power in what is a very complex situation sometimes with young players.”

BBM needs to tell Tan - If there are any offers that these players need to stay and get the job done to go back up :bluebird:

He said that we don't have to sell any players, why would he need to tell Tan that when what he said would imply that he has been told as much by Tan or the board of clowns?

I’m pretty sure BBM will keep the players he feels he needs this transfer window, and bring in a couple of fresh faces

It’s never a good time to unbalance a squad doing well in their League mid-season, and even Vincent Tan will know that

All our players are developing very well (even those who remain from last season’s debacle) and on current trajectory, some will inevitably attract the interest of higher League clubs

The ‘best scenario’ for our club, is to keep the current squad together, and hope promotion to the Championship follows, because at that point, the whole situation takes on a new dimension for all concerned

I don’t really see a scenario where we have a major squad reshuffle next season, even if we failed in our promotion bid; but I’m certain that a return to the Championship means keeping the vast majority regardless, and increasing the value of those ‘wanted’ by others even further! :ayatollah:
