:bluebird: :bluebird: “ BRIAN BARRY MURPHY WILL TODAY UPDATE CARDIFF CITY FANS “ :bluebird: :bluebird:

Thursday 4th December 2025

BBB feels the 5-1 Defeat at home to Wimbledon was a good learning curve for the younger players:

“The players had invaluable experience and for all of those young players moving forward.”
“For them to play against Wimbledon was great experience and they will learn from it.”

Barry-Murphy confirmed Osho was forced off at half-time after the latest blow and will undergo a scan today to determine the full extent of the damage.

BBM:

“We want to be aggressive and have a mindset to take on Huddersfield at every opportunity. We’re at our best at home when we’re on the front foot, when we’re being assertive and decisive."

BBM:

“Yeah, we don’t have to sell any players. That’s not changed. And from my point of view, I hope they all stay! “

BBM:

Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy has poured cold water on reports linking the Bluebirds with Rangers midfielder Bailey Rice.

When asked about Cardiff’s interest in 19yr old Rice?

“NO INTEREST AT ALL”

Injury update:

“Osho is out injured with a toe injury.”

“Rubin has had the operation and it will be 12 weeks before he can train again.”

“Tanner is making good progress on the grass”

“Eli King will be back from injury next season after his 2 year contract he signed”

“OSHO”

Barry-Murphy admitted he may have pushed the defender into competitive action slightly ahead of schedule.

“I think, initially, I probably rushed him in sooner than I should have," he said. "He’s been exceptional in training over the past few weeks and you saw on Tuesday the defensive qualities he brings that are so important for us going forward.”

Those glimpses, however, have been coupled with a few high-profile errors.

“That was evident in the games he played," he added. "His performances were also trademarked by some mistakes that cost us. Naturally, that becomes the focus, that’s just how it is in that role.”

“Huddersfield are obviously a big hitter in terms of this league, with a lot of experience in their ranks," Brian began. We’re very clear on what they can do well, and the next few days for ourselves are just about training our way to overcome that and try to play really well on Saturday to win again at home.

“It will be exciting for us to test ourselves against that calibre of team. It will be a good game for us. Our home form has been very good lately, so we’re looking to continue that and try to win again.

“It’s very important that we take it a game at a time, try and keep the players as fit and healthy as they are and improve them physically, trying to win each game as they come.

"If we do that enough times then we’ll be fine.“

"As much as the plaudits go to the players that score the goals and attack, the clean sheet last Saturday was very big for us because we’ve been very keen to improve that side of our game, and credit goes to the players for how good they’ve been."

Barry-Murphy confirmed Osho was forced off at half-time after the latest blow and will undergo a scan today to determine the full extent of the damage.

BBM:

“Gabriel Osho came off with a dislocated toe, so he’ll be assessed and scanned today,” said the Bluebirds boss. “We don’t know the full timescale yet, but he won’t be available for the weekend.”

The summer signing, brought in from Auxerre and expected to be a mainstay in Brian Barry-Murphy’s new-look defence, has endured a difficult start to life in the capital with niggling injuries and many costly mistakes disrupting his rhythm. Now, his return will be delayed further.

"We’re not sure on the timescale yet, but he won’t be available on the weekend. The longer he's been here, the more obvious it's been to his teammates how important he will be for us in the long run, and obviously he wants to show that to the supporters as well.

He concluded: “Ollie’s doing really well, he’s starting to join little parts of our training but we’re keeping our expectations realistic in terms of when and where he will return.

"We’re still looking towards the end of December for a return to game action based on how much we have to train him because of how long he’s been out."

Yousef Salech previewed Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Huddersfield Town by speaking to the press.

The Bluebirds head into the fixture at the top of the table, taking on the Terriers, who currently sit in eighth.

Yousef Salech:

“It’s probably the most important part of the season right now." Yousef began. "There’s a lot of games and they’re against the teams who are around us. It’s a chance to show that we want to take a step away from those teams.

“At the beginning of the season, everything was new. We were playing against new teams in new stadiums, Brian [Barry-Murphy] was new here as well and we came out of that well. We’re top of the league right now; we’re trying to build on that and make a gap.

“Most importantly, we’re winning games right now. We’re first in the league and I’m just happy that I can do my part by scoring goals lately. It took me some time and some games to get into a good rhythm, which I feel like I’m in right now.

"The team has done well, creating a lot of chances. We could have scored even more goals in the last game and in the games before, so I feel good right now and I’m happy with how well we’ve done so far."

It would be naïve to think there wouldn't be clubs watching those young players and being interested in what happens.

Nothing’s changed from my point of view in terms of how important those players are for our club and how much opportunity we feel we can give them to play, which is always the most important thing.

I’ve been at clubs where I’ve been on the other side of this – where the big clubs come and take those players because they can offer them a lot more, especially in the current climate.

But if we can show those players, and the ones already playing at first-team level, that we can give them regular opportunities, then it carries a lot of power in what is a very complex situation sometimes with young players.”

Aged 15 years old:

Brian Barry-Murphy:

"I think if they're good enough and he clearly is, then they're old enough for us with Axel.

It's just about using him when and where we need him really.

As young as he is, we have to be mindful of not giving him too much too soon in terms of demanding too much from him, based on him only being 15. There's an element of that.

But if we need him in the coming weeks, if we haven't got players in that position, then we would use him for definite.

He's a brilliant player."
