" Why I'm so pleased about today "

Sat Nov 29, 2025 4:58 pm

I was a little worried before the game when I saw Mansfield fans say their team was set up to frustrate us.

Burton did that and we lost.

But today we got through the test excellently.

Showed we can play at home against a defensive team.

Men against boys really and we were deserving of the 3-0 scoreline.

Well done City, top of the league :bluebird:

Most professional performance of the season. We didn't miss Rubin and I actually think the team had a giod balance without him. Should have won by more. How did Salech not score that open goak?

I said something similar in the pre-match thread. It was a big day for BBM as life without Rubin started today and although roughly the same formation, I thought the wingers were more in the inside channels than hugging the chalkline.

For a high earner, Robinson doesn't really fit, and that is a concern as he offered very little today.

The made in the Academy 2nd goal made my day

Lucky though and not that good.

If we had lost, Bolton and Stockport won and Huddersfield won by 8 goals we wouldn’t even be in the playoff places.

Agree. It was the same setup but with a different shape, particularly in wide areas.

Did think Willock made a difference when he came on because of how good his touches are, a bit surprised he didn't start.

I thought Wintle and Ashford were outstanding today. Very good all around performance but think those 2 were stand out. Ash covered defensively and got rewards with his goal.

Let’s hope we can go on a run, win the games in hand and get a bit of a gap between us and the chasing pack, particularly Bolton, barnsely and Bradford

Good performance with a few players surprising me (Ashford Turnbull Wintle).Need to really kick on now with this run of home games.

PS
Don’t like this no Goalkeeper on bench.
