Must win game really, away to any of the pot 1 teams would be extremely tough

Bellamy's interview was interesting. He described some of the Wales team problems and areas for improvement, such as taking their chances, shooting more and holding onto the ball too long etc. Sounds like the same problems Cardiff have at times. I thought watching Wales was similar to watching Cardiff with the same frustrations. Let's hope Harry Wilson has a excellent game as the Captain for Wales vs Macedonia.

Listening to pundits on England game they were saying with tuchel players look to play forward when in possession unlike with previous coach..... watching wales/city is the opposite look to play back or sideways .... noticed the similarities when Wales had ball we virtually stopped to look around before playing it back.. People say no games easy in international football but a team six places from bottom of fifa rankings is as easy as it gets ... but we made it hard for ourselves 4 shots on target shows never really presured their goal ..

Simply have to win tomorrow.

If we don't and got drawn against Italy away, can't see us winning that.

Agree, Bellamy seemd very disappointed with the performance.

Ampadu 'gutted' to miss crunch North Macedonia tie

Ethan Ampadu earned his 59th Wales cap in the 1-0 win over Liechtenstein
ByDafydd Pritchard

BBC Sport Wales in Vaduz, Liechtenstein

15 November 2025

World Cup qualifier: Wales v North Macedonia

Venue: Cardiff City Stadium Date: Tuesday 18 November Kick-off: 19:45 GMT
Coverage: Live on BBC iPlayer, BBC One Wales, BBC Sounds, BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru and Sports Extra, BBC Sport website and app, plus live text commentary.

Ethan Ampadu says he is "gutted" to have received a second yellow card of Wales' World Cup qualifying campaign which means he will be suspended for Tuesday's decisive final group game against North Macedonia.
Ampadu was booked in the 86th minute of Wales' 1-0 win in Liechtenstein on Saturday, a game in which he captained his country in the absence of Ben Davies and Aaron Ramsey.

It was a costly evening for Wales, whose goalscorer Jordan James also picked up a second-half yellow card two minutes after scoring, meaning he will be banned for North Macedonia as well.

Wales need to win that match at Cardiff City Stadium to finish second in Group J and secure a home play-off semi-final in March.

"I am very gutted," Ampadu told BBC Match of the Day Wales. "It's annoying because I don't think I touched the guy and I won the ball.

Thought Slovakia or Germany who play each other decides 1st & 2nd in their group?

Re: LATEST NEWS: WALES V NORTH MACEDONIA :

Allan,

Wales are the only team that can still end up in 3 different Playoff pots!

Pot 1 ( v Pot 4)
Pot 2 ( v Pot 3)
Pot 3
Pot 4 ( v Pot 1)

Given that no team has been confirmed in Pot 2 yet, Wales can theoretically still play anyone in PO Semifinal!

I hope Germany beat Slovakia tonight.

Last thing we want as a play-off opponent is Germany, either in the semi final or final.

That would be a disaster.

Good news, didn't want them because we'd stand no chance.

Just hope we win tomorrow now, a potential away game at Italy is worrying.

Although I watched Albania v England yesterday and Albania didn't look good, so wouldn't be too worried about an away game against them.

Be more worried about the final if get there? Can be the hardest game and away to go with it.. at least last qualifying WC we had knowledge of was playing at home in both games now its a lucky dip!

Harry Wilson says captaining Wales for their key World Cup qualifier against North Macedonia on Tuesday in Cardiff is a huge honour for him.

With Aaron Ramsey and Ben Davies both out injured and Ethan Ampadu suspended, Wilson will lead the team for their final group game.

Wales will clinch a home semi-final in the play-offs with a win, anything less will mean they'll face a tough away fixture in Thursday's draw.
