All exiles

Morning all.
After 70 years, I moved from Cardiff to Bexleyheath in April this year to be near my grandchildren. I renewed my season ticket.

As today’s match was postponed I am going to watch Welling Utd this afternoon They were relegated to the Isthmian League Premier Division last season and are in the bottom four already. They area 20 minute walk from my home.

I love my football and could never support any other team than the City but as I’m at a loose end today, I thought why not.
It’s got me thinking whether any other City Exiles go and watch their local teams.

If so who do you watch when city are not playing?

I look out for the Burton Albion fixture.

I have a number of Derby County friends up here and I've learnt that Derby fans will also support Burton. Its like they take Burton under their wing instead of treating them like local rivals. Different yes but a welcomed difference.

Merthyr Town at home to Hanwell Town in the FA Trophy this afternoon (3:00 kick off), if anyone at a loose end and would like to support a local(ish) team.

Always a good welcome at Penydarren Park (and the pasties are good). The quality of football is improving as they claw themselves back up the football Pyramid

Plus they 'normally' offer a price reduction if you show your city season ticket (but no guarantee it will apply today)

So come on up and cheer on the Martyrs

I've moved up the valleys from Kiiiarrrdiff. Thinking about watching Merthyr until i move back to Cardiff. How much is it? Presumably it's pay on the day?
