" Very proud of our academy tonight "

As soon as BBM made it clear last week that he'd just play academy players for this game, I expected Arsenal U21s to win comfortably.

But fair play, our young team did themselves proud.

Wasn't even our full U21 team, with some of them away on international duty.

Certainly didn't expect us to win but we did and are now in the knockout stages of this competition by winning the group.

Deserved it too.

Spiers, Kingdon, Perrett, Apter and Pearce especially did well in my view.

Very, very pleased and proud of that team tonight.

Hopefully tonight shows our supporters what a bright future lies ahead for this club and why it's imperative we give bbm the time to install his philosophy within the club, as he has all age grades playing the same way as the first team so there all ready to make the step up when the call comes, this is gonna take time we just need patience

It will do them the world of good to beat a Club with the resources that they have. Well done.

A very good performance by the youth who were up against some of the best youth in the country. I hope BBM keeps to his promise to play them in this competition regardless how far they get.

The only time Arsenal looked the better team was the 5 minutes or so leading up to their goal. Other than that we dominated and played some super football - a thoroughly deserved win, which on another day could have been by a couple more goals.

Also proud of the youngsters.

Need to be careful no other academies steal these players.
