Tue Nov 11, 2025 6:52 pm

V ARSENAL UNDER 21’S

Five First Team debuts in the starting XI!

There are five First Team debuts in the starting XI in the forms of Gabriel Keita, Alyas Debono, Matty Apter, Trey George and Dan Ola.

On the bench, there are six potential debuts, with Luke Pearce the only player to have a City appearance to his name.

Pretty much as expected, BBM did say it would be an academy team so not surprises here.

Probably means we lose but it's the right decision in my opinion.

Doesn’t there need to be a certain number of players that are playing next game or last game?

Outside of Transfer Windows: Recalling a player outside of a designated transfer window (e.g., in the middle of cup games in October or November) usually requires the mutual agreement of all three parties: the parent club, the loan club, and the player.
EFL Trophy Eligibility: If a player is successfully recalled and registered with their parent club, their eligibility for the EFL Trophy will depend on whether they are cup-tied. A player is cup-tied if they have already played for another club in the same competition during that season. If they have not played for the loan club in the EFL Trophy, they would generally be eligible to play for the parent club after being recalled and re-registered.

Fair play, I reckon I could name more well known Sunday league players from my local team. This could be a ghastly end result for us

It's because merthyr are only a part time club so he's only with them 2 days training then back with Cardiff

It is what it is and it will be interesting to see what these players can do. Win, lose or draw doesn't matter.
