Brian Barry-Murphy spoke to the press after City fell to a 3-1 defeat at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.
"It's a very disappointing result for us, obviously." Brian began. "We would have liked to do a lot better in a lot of the game.
"We created a lot of chances throughout the course of the game. But, the way that we play and the way that we attack so much is not an excuse for us to defend the moments that we had to defend in the manner we did. We want to be as disciplined a team in defence as we are in attack, and today we weren't.
"The opening stages of the game, it was end to end. Blackpool came really aggressive, the atmosphere was hot in that moment. We weathered the storm, dominated the first half completely, created multiple chances but didn't take them, and we weren't good enough in our finishing actions.
"Like I said, throughout the course of the second half we still had chances, but we didn't defend well enough at all as a team. I think you saw us become a little bit ragged in the later stages of the game, giving away needless free-kicks and not choose the right option, which we did in the final action to score a goal, so there's a lesson for us there."
