Mexican platform Medio Tiempo, journalist José Manuel Escobedo:

"Aaron Ramsey is a coward," he Said:

"I have seen colleagues here who, two days after their mother or father passes away, come to work because they are responsible men and committed to their work.“

Ramsey's football future is now unclear as he searches for a new club. He still has a desire to play for Wales at the World Cup next year despite his injury struggles in recent years.

Ramsey after only 9 Starts for Cardiff City in two years, Ramsey’s Contract was not renewed and he left Wales to go to Mexico.

In July 2025, Ramsey joined Mexican club Pumas UNAM on a free transfer, following the expiry of his Cardiff City contract.

He made his debut for Pumas on 24 August 2025 in a 0–0 draw against Puebla. One week later, Ramsey scored his first goal for Pumas, netting a 92nd-minute winner in a home game against Atlas.

On 31 October 2025, Ramsey left Pumas UNAM after the club and the player agreed to a mutual termination of his contract.

The decision followed a difficult period in which Ramsey made only six appearances in over three months , struggled with fitness issues and missed trainings.

Then Ramsey had emotional personal crisis triggered by the disappearance of his dog, “Halo”, which reportedly had a significant impact on him.

The midfielder has terminated his contract with the Liga MX side having made just six appearances for the club, and has now returned to the UK. Injuries certainly hampered his time in Mexico, but it's the disappearance of his beloved dog Halo that has seemingly been the key driver behind his decision.

However, it seems not everyone is all that sympathetic.

Speaking about Ramsey's exit on Mexican platform Medio Tiempo, journalist José Manuel Escobedo took aim at the Wales star, and claimed the loss of his dog was simply not a good enough excuse for calling time on his career with Pumas.

"Aaron Ramsey is a coward," he Said.

"I have seen colleagues here who, two days after their mother or father passes away, come to work because they are responsible men and committed to their work.“

"This man loses his dog and says: 'I'm leaving the country and I'm not coming back to work'.

"What a bad example, Aaron Ramsey! Is that the example to young kids who will face difficult situations?

"You are telling them that the answer is to run away from your professional responsibilities."

"The reality is that, in due course, the club will issue and provide information regarding that, I have nothing more to say," Juarez said following his side's 4-1 win over Club Tijuana at the weekend.

Ramsey's football future is now unclear as he searches for a new club. He still has a desire to play for Wales at the World Cup next year despite his injury struggles in recent years.

He's obviously talking about Mexicans who are used to stuff like this happening in their country.

Probably do as they're told anyway or they'll be shot.

Still say it was an extremely strange decision to go there because of that country's reputation and what we know about it.

But going on TV and calling Ramsey a coward is totally uncalled for.

I said during last season that Ramsey needs to retire and I stand by that, but it's much better for him to be out of Mexico anyway.

Spot on Al, it's precisely that. He and his family are better off out of it.

Not sure of its been mentioned but dog had a tracker on his collar And those looking after him couldn't find him?
Why wasn't rambo told until a week after he went missing? Very odd circumstances indeed...
Also dog is not exactly fast on his legs to go to far

Totally agree I wouldn't move my family out there. It's notorious for kidnapping

They know he got money so what next his children I totally understand rambo leaving Mexico as already said it is known for kidnapping.

This journalist José Manuel Escobed was most prob in with it to get money. I do not think he is a coward he has left as his family wanted to leave and wanted to protect his family I respect his descision

But that's common knowledge, so why go there in the first place?

Strange.

He thought it won't happen to me and the incident with his dog, drove home the point that it definitely can. The club sold it to him as it's safe now? Who knows? Someone must have been in his ear in the first place it's such an odd place to go. Surely he could have got a club in the US or even Saudi league with the career he's had

More than losing a dog - if this journalist did his homework :o

The journalist went on about losing a family member - Well Rambo did last month .
Not reported in any paper here or Mexico and me personally I was upset when a family member gave me the news .
