Unfortunately, the FA Cup doesn't seem to have the attraction, it once had ?
Am very surprised at Bolton's FA Cup gate - it was about 15,000 down from the Cardiff game...

I am surprised as well at Bolton's attendance. And Readings as I suspect Carlisle, despite the distance would bring a fair few
I think a small part of the reason is that so many people are now season ticket holders and are just not used to forking out money on the day. Faced with paying money for a competition that has lost its glamour people just stay at home.
I used to stand on the Bob Bank and I remember how sparse the grandstand would be for early round cup games back in the 80's and 90's. In those days the grandstand was the only part of the ground where a lot of people had season tickets. The rest of us just turned up on the day and paid at the gate so we expected to pay every week. These days most of us are season ticket holders.
