1976/77 County looked doomed. There was no relegation in those
days. Bottom clubs would seek re - election
County were bottom. Addision
worked a miracle on the last game of the season.
they beat Wokingham 1-0 to stay in the football league

Whatever. I was there. Willie Brown scored the only goal of
the game against Workingtonham

I was there as well. I seem to remember it was a night game but light as it was the last game. Huge crowd by County standards. The bottom 4 had to apply for re-election and County managed to finish 5th bottom by beating WORKINGTON in that last game. They had gone a record number of games from the start of the season - over 20 I think- before Addison took over. As you say he worked a miracle as they climbed from rock bottom by a mile to finish 20th. Possibly the biggest turnaround in form by any side I can remember. Workington finished bottom and failed to be re- elected and were replaced by either Wimbledon or Wigan. I have got the programme somewhere because it was Workington's last game in the league
