Kpakio and Kellyman

Thu Oct 30, 2025 12:00 am

Because of his yellow card on Tuesday, Ronan Kpakio will be suspended for the game against Chelsea.

Omari Kellyman is on loan from Chelsea. He could still play in the game, but Chelsea would have to approve that.

In the FA Cup, players on loan can not play against their own team.

But in the Carabao Cup, they can play against their own team - providing the team that they're on loan from give their written consent.

What a shame they will both miss out our best pairing on the right side 2 young lads .Just be gutted and it's weakened us on that side.

I can't remember why Ronan Kapakio was booked but the ref and linesmen Tuesday were shocking. Linesman on our side missed so many offside first half.

He brought down one of their players who was breaking free in our half. No defender in front off him but would he was quite wide and would probably have been caught by our defenders coming across. Clear yellow and not far off a red.

I also don't see Chelsea approving it for Kellyman to play.

Maybe a slight chance because BBM is mates with Maresca, he may convince him to allow him to play. But still very unlikely I'd say.

No complaints about Kpakio's yellow, it was a clear booking. If it was ten yards further into our half then it may have been a red.

In the Carabao Cup, a player who receives two yellow cards during the competition will be suspended for their next match in that same competition. This suspension is wiped clean after the quarter-final stage, so yellow cards accumulated after the quarter-finals do not count towards a potential final suspension. A red card, however, does result in an immediate suspension for the next game, regardless of the stage.
