BBM:

“It’s an immensely satisfying night." Brian began. "To play the way that we did throughout the course of the game in front of so many of our supporters who made the journey, it felt like a really special game.

“We had a very difficult end to the game on Saturday, and probably didn’t play the way that we wanted to play in terms of our attacking play. Today was similar to the Burnley game where we had a disappointing result before that and bounced back straight away. In this dressing room, we’re trying to make the players aware of how to bounce back from certain situations over the course of the season. The way that we started the game summed up what we wanted."

It was the perfect response from Brian's Bluebirds, who put another team from a higher division to the sword in this competition, with goals coming from Yousef Salech and Will Fish.

He continued: “For the dressing room in itself, the ambition is high. Most of them have played at a higher level and you want to test yourself in this type of game. It was a very satisfying evening and we handled ourselves well throughout the game.

“The team is a very new team. I think we’ve had an amazing start to the season but still have had some ups and downs, like Saturday’s late goal. You’re always looking for players to bounce back because we put so much demand on them. You also have to be forgiving of them because of how much they’re giving on behalf of the supporters. Tonight was a great example of what we can achieve."

The boss commented with a word on the 1,250 travelling fans, with whom he shared some special moments after the final whistle.

“It’s very special. The emotion of this Club means that when you’re going really well, it’s an amazing feeling, and when you suffer a setback like Saturday, it can be very disheartening for the supporters.

"Always, our intention is to give them a team to be really proud of and excited by, and as long as we keep reminding ourselves of that and the players do their very best, you’ll see the feeling and momentum that can be created in the Club to push us forward.

"It shows what we can achieve. Every game is different, and we start preparation for Saturday’s game."

I'm beginning to really believe that he buys into us.. the supporters. May be, and I'm struggling to remember, but may be the first manager since Neil Warnock :bluescarf:

Watching him hugging and high fiving the fans after the game last night, you can really feel he gets what it means to us fans

We really need to be patient and I understand days like Saturday are frustrating but we are building something special here, it won't happen over night, but when it does we will be unstoppable

Agree 100%, saw him at Stockport after getting off the team coach, players went in and he was there with the City fans / kids, selfies and shaking hands. This club will / could be his special club.

Hes a very decent man. Respectful to all and clearly commands the respect of his players.
