Our first 6 games rubin was bossing it we had a high press game as soon as we lost the ball we were hunting in packs 2/3 players at a time regaining the ball tackling and wrestling the ball back, and then driving forward,
i have highlights recorded from our first 6 games we now look nothing like it.
Perhaps someone should show these highlights to the manager and ask why are we still not playing like this.?

Monty, When Rubin was leading us he was playing a lot better than he is now, the responsibility did him well and we were way better in attack .

We are still doing it. We are constantly winning the ball in the opponents half which show it is still working.
I think we've won the ball in the opponents half more than any other team in the league actually.

We're 2nd best in the league at the time of writing to Luton of 'winning the ball in the final 3rd'; over the season.

Yes just noticed that as I was looking at the data. Still pretty good.

Anyone who thinks our game against Bolton resembled our early start to the season, is deluded.

I don't think anybody is. I think we've all said it was a poor performance.
But worth pointing out that Bolton are good at home. Neither team played well but they edged it and deserved the win.
Nobody is suggesting otherwise.

Reading and leyton orient dominated us with there attacking play, that was not performing like the start of the season is my point, its was simply an observation we are not dominating teams like we did at the start of the season,
You can dress it up how you want.

Performances have dropped slightly but not significantly.
You can dress it up how you want, we are still top of the league at the moment.
And we beat Reading and Leyton Orient.
Your post was about the high press and that's still happening.

I'd agree with that, and we're definitely trending the wrong way. I'm also an optimist, so not in panic stations yet.
We could be a Luton or Plymouth, who both finished above us last season and are 10th and 22nd respectively.
Still a long way to go.

We are still pressing so not quite sure of this post. You cannot do it 100% of tine you have to choose moments but feel this is still evident. Maybe not been as effective but they are pressing generally quite well.
Problem is with the ball we are sloppy and don't seem to be able to create anymore

It was working because Rubin was passing to our players & finding them, lately he seems to be giving the ball to the opposition players rather than ours.
No doubt someone will prove me wrong with some passing stats of Rubin's. I did say lately & seems to be so my eyes may be deceiving me.

No they are not.

I stand by this, We had the best out of Rubin when he was leading the way and going forward.
Last 6-7 games we have been all over the place and just look 3 defeats in last 6 league games for me is awful against most of the opposition we have played and some of the Wins have actually not been deserved and even Ned has not been happy lately and that says a lot.

Including sadly a loss to Newport.

Teams have analysed us, the game plan is out there, its up to Murphy to adapt or insist that we'll be better at what we do than the opposition is at stopping it.
If they go long (bolton did quite often) then the press is pointless

You have answered my question by what you say, "maybe not
as effective as we where", that's all I have said if we were doing the same as the start of the season our pressing would be better and more effective
Perhaps i should have worded it
Were has our effective press gone.

Watching the Man city Villa game yesterday you could see the similarities with us & how we play. Lots of little passes around the Villa box trying to work an opening for a shot & Villa did a good job of not letting them get any room for that shot.
And no I'm not saying we're as good as Man city before anyone jumps on that trying to be a smart arse as some people do on here, just that you could see in the style of play what BBM is trying to do & how it doesn't always work, even when Pep's team are trying to score, no matter how good the players are.

Nice to see our high press back that's what i meant by a high press the way we played last night just like our first 6 games and we have been pressing but not like that wetger it was wrexham standing off or teams in this division do not sit back and do not allow our high press.
