Bolton Harvester after the game - oppo the ground

Sun Oct 26, 2025 6:14 pm

Went in there as train from Horwich was 45 mins wait. Manic, as one of our pubs would be. Sign said home fans only, and some were showing tickets, but as a 67 year old with no colours just went in, door staff said nothing. Chanting and on tables, over the moon with the win, and when City coaches passed a surge of sheep shagging chants. But to be fair the one of two I spoke with thought a draw was the right result. Just a sickener at the end.

Being up North and with the few City I know up here either stopped going through family / cost, I'm very used to using 'Home' pubs, never any issues, head down, be respectful. Wondering are there others like me that do similar, and what's the reception you get.

As a note, I have been living in Leeds for the past 37 years, former Night Club manager and known a fair few City here that have been to games, then just wandered away. Me, now retired it's part of my new job to follow them :bluescarf:

I remember when we last played them, the security were checking tickets so, prepared to claim just meeting a mate - having lived in England since leaving the RN in 84, my Cardiff accent has reduced, unless I have had a few beers :occasion5:
