I’ve been one of the most positive.

But that performance was pathetic, feel sorry for the fans that travelled. That’s as close to a Riza style performance that you can get. We could have played until Monday and not scored.

We seem more intent on completing boring five yard passes than making any passes forward. I hope to never see Turnbull in a Cardiff shirt again, offers absolutely nothing going forward or defensively.

Rubin proving why Bellamy doesn’t rate him. Non existent once again.

We’re still better off than I expected this season but the trends are worrying and I fear for us over the festive season.

It happens in football. And we won’t be judged on this one game at the end of the season , when we are comfortably promoted. I really don’t know what more people want than being top of the league.

I’m with you mate but that was some of the poorest football I’ve seen for a long time. I fear for us over the Christmas period but hope the team can bounce back and prove me wrong

I agree we can play better and we will. But even playing below our best we still top of the league and that is a sign of a championship winning team.

We have rode our luck massively so far this season. Based on performances we should not be top of the league. We can’t continue in this way. We will start dropping down the league if we don’t improve.

All this shite about riding our luck and playing badly etc.

Do we know for sure every other team are smashing it and playing great every week?

We don’t.

Great point.
This is league one. Our level at the moment and we the best team overall so far at this level. There is some very unnecessary panicking.

Irrelevant. Today’s performance wasn’t good enough, we need to set our own standards and most players fell way short today .

We are league one. That happens. What we need to do is to get results which we are doing.

Well we won't get comfortably promoted playing insipid, woeful, slow paced football like that. Not a chance.

4 shots and none on target says it all - absolutely pathetic. No point in having 60% possession when you do fk all with it.

Correct. But that is just 90 mins of football. If you zoom out and look at the big picture , we currently sit top of the pile. I believe we be there at the end of the season and this will just be a game we did perform at our best and got punished for.

Wrexham got promoted last season.

Regularly played slow, insipid football.

Apart from trott most of that team took us down last season

Maybe they did but in reality they got promoted because Stockport fcked it up at end .... but seriously be lucky to get promoted playing football that is anti attacking? 4 shots at goal with none on target from a team top of league is damning.

I am just a fan, not a football professional, but my eyes tell me that Turnbull offers little. A quick look Turnbull vs Wintle starts

Turnbull has started 5 games:

Rotherham (win)
Bradford (loss)
Burton (loss)
Reading (won)
Bolton (loss)

Wintle has started 11
Posh (won)
Port vale (draw)
Rotherham (won)
Wimbledon (won)
Luton (won)
Plymouth (won)
Stockport (draw)
Bradford (loss)
Wigan (won)
Burton (loss)
Orient (won)

The problem with Turnbull right now is that his confidence on the ball is completely gone. He keeps missing simple passes and slowing play down, giving the ball away when going forward, and when we’re out of possession, he offers next to nothing defensively.

He constantly stands off his man just like for the goal today and he can’t chase back. It was embarrassing at times seeing Newport players breeze past him so easily.

If he’s not contributing with the ball, there’s absolutely no reason he should be anywhere near the starting eleven.

Both Colwills & Robertson are better in forward positions and Wintle and Robertson are ahead of him as a 6. I’d probably pick Manfico too, just because he’s more mobile when we’re out of possession.

Like you, I’m just a fan, but I genuinely don’t understand what BBM sees in him to keep playing him week after week.

Let's be honest it's league one division 3 it's not that great and the last few weeks we've struggled with constant changing the team tickerman bbm same as riza for me

Re: I’ve been one of the most positive.

Today was poor, no getting away from that.

But I have said for a while that we wouldn't hit our stride until after Christmas and still believe that. Because it's such a young team, they need time to get into the season.

The good news is that we're in a great position without playing brilliant.

That is still a very good's position to be in your right. I just worry about our small squad through winter.

You may well be right and I hope you are but that was a very poor performance coming after bad performances against both Reading and Burton at home as well as that shocker against Stockport.

4 hours driving up, 2 hours freezing my nuts off and 4 hours driving home.......I need a beer.......

Agree with your other points but I still say we didn't play badly against Burton, we just didn't take any of the multiple clear chances we had.

You've earned that beer by having to watch that today.

Well what have we improved on from last season , umm nothing taking into account its a poor league , cant defend lucky enough we got a great keeper , cant pass unless back to keeper , cant cross , we lack a leader and have done for a number of years , wwve gone no where under this manager , our fans dont half get short changed

Our first choice defence of:

Trott
Kaprio/NG
Fish
Lawlor
Bagan

Is far better than last season, rest of the team probably not much difference but much younger and has more room for improvement.

Yes we will have set backs but can you honestly say BBM is not a better manager than Riza?

If we're going nowhere with our manager, how are Luton and Plymouth fans feeling!!

Same as my feelings. Lawler and Kpakio have been a bonus but Rubin sorry he is the same as last year. When you look at the standard of the league , he should be 8/9 out of 10 every game, if people think he is going to to a championship player or lower premiership player.

He has played an awful lot. He has a very high ceiling he has shown that. It’s difficult for any young player (he’s still young) to maintain a ceiling the whole time.

When would you say he stops being a young player?
