:bluescarf: :bluebird: “ BRIAN BARRY-MURPHY TODAY UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS “ :bluebird: :bluescarf:

Thursday 23rd October 2025

Up Next Bolton Away this Saturday 12:30pm / 2,000 Cardiff Fans Travelling :bluebird: :bluebird:

Brian Barry-Murphy:

"I don't think we've played that well over the last few games.”

“We've been tentative in the way we play. When we've been behind, the shackles have come off.”

BBM:

“ I believe we’re one of the best teams in the league ourselves. Our intention is to go and show that on Saturday."

BBM:

"We have fresh concerns.

Will Fish has an ongoing knee issue which is getting better. Especially when he's making long passes, he has had some discomfort in his knee but the amount of discomfort is getting less and less. He's making good progress.

Dylan Lawlor has had a good week of training.

I think it's important that he can do certain things we want in training today and then hopefully he can be available for Saturday."

BRIAN BARRY-MURPHY:

"Alex Robertson returned from the United States on the Friday, has had a full week of training.

"He trained on Friday, then trained on Saturday, on the day of the game, and then has had a really good week of training so far, so he's doing really well, progressing in the way that I want from him.”

BBM:

"To be competitive and to give ourselves a chance to win, we’ll have to be at our absolute best."

Brian Barry-Murphy:

"Alex returned from the United States on the Friday, has had a full week of training.

"He trained on Friday, then trained on Saturday, on the day of the game, and then has had a really good week of training so far, so he's doing really well, progressing in the way that I want from him.”

"He's going to train today and then be available like all the rest of the players tomorrow.”

"I think he's in a much better condition, physically, and the training that I've seen from him recently has been very positive.

"I think it's fine for the supporters to talk about him in whatever way they want.

"Alex is somebody who I know really, really well from long before he was at this club, so all I want for all the players is to be giving their best to get the chance to play. My duty is then to get them into that condition where they can compete against each other.

"But I have to be very fair and consistent in the way that I judge all the squad once they reach that level, and that's the same for Alex as it is for everybody else.

"If he was in shoes of the other players, he'd want the exact same thing. I made it really clear to Alex what I expect from him, and now he's starting to meet those expectations because I know he can do it.

"If I didn't think you could do it, I wouldn't make those demands of him, like all other players. So I'm very pleased where he is now and hopefully, he could play a big part in that season once he reaches the levels I know he can."

BBM:

"I think we’re seeing from week to week how difficult this league is and the level of challenge is consistently high," Brian began.

"So many of the games have been decided by the odd goal and we’ve been both on the right side and wrong side of that previously ourselves.

"Every analysis of this team in particular tells me that they’re top of the league on so many different metrics and they’re one the best teams, it’s clear.

"To be competitive in that game and to give ourselves a chance to win, we’ll have to be at our absolute best.

"But, I believe we’re one of the best teams in the league ourselves. Our intention is to go and show that on Saturday."

BBM:

“Omari Kellyman”

“I’m very pleased with the amount of progress he’s making. We’re wary of how much we want to push him and expose him to playing long periods in games.

"He hasn’t gone past the 60-minute mark for us yet. While we’re pushing him and we want to be competitive, at this stage of the season, I think you’ll see the benefits of what he can do later on in the campaign once he gets that consistency and confidence going from game to game.

“We see him very much as a central player who has an incredible ability to arrive in the box and score goals.

"He’s a brilliant finisher, but at the moment, opportunities have arose in wide areas. Ollie Tanner is injured and Omari’s level of performance in training has been so good that he has played in that wide position.

"His combination with Ronan [Kpakio] who can attack on the outside of Omari has been a good solution. The best of him is yet to come."

“Will Fish has an ongoing knee issue which is getting better. Particularly with his longer passes, he’s feeling some discomfort in his knee, but the amount is becoming less and less. He’s making good progress.

“Dylan Lawlor has had a good week of training so far. It’s important that he can do certain things that we want when we train later on today. Hopefully, he can be available for Saturday.

“There are no fresh concerns from the Reading game. The international break brought a lot of moving parts where players were in different places physically.

“Once you come back from that, it always feels reassuring when you get back to your routine. For the whole of this week, it’s been a lot more settled and the players are looking very well.”
