BBM: GABRIEL OSHO ( Aged 27 )

By Glen Williams

“I just don't think he played well,” the Cardiff boss said candidly when asked about the decision. “I think Gabriel in his home games so far has made a lot of mistakes that I would never associate with him and he's not in a great rhythm yet.”

“He's missed quite a lot of training with different niggles, so he came back into training on Thursday and I'm putting him in the team pretty quickly.

“I just thought in the first half, he made some obvious mistakes that I thought could have an impact on the scoreline. So I thought it was best for him to come off and for Will to come on.”

It proved to be an inspired move, as Fish went on to make a crucial goal-line clearance late in the second half to preserve Cardiff’s lead and secure a hard-fought three points. But Barry-Murphy admitted the defensive situation is far from ideal.

Honest words and I agree with all of that.

He did play well at Wigan but has really struggled in the home games he's played.

Most of us have seen him before and know he's a good player so I have no doubt that he will come good.

But it would be too much of a risk for me to start him against a very good Bolton team on Saturday. Fish should start and I'd play him alongside Chambers, who was my MOTM on Saturday. Also understand the calls for it to be Fish and Lawlor.
