MAFICO WHY NOT ON THE BENCH?

Mon Oct 20, 2025 12:49 pm

We have tried kapakio and lawlor why not mafico ? murphy was singing his praises as a midfielder and I cannot see why he cannot have 20/30 mins in midfield, Saturdays game as an example against reading would have been ideal,
turnbull Joe colwill were both poor in midfield, and to bring on fresh legs and someone who wants to break into the first team,
I don' t see why he cannot find a place on the bench.

The subs on Saturday were:

Turner
Ng
Fish
Wintle
Ashford
Davies
Robinson

He's obviously not going to be there in place of the GK or attacking players so that's four of the subs. Always good to have a full back and CB on the bench too.

So that leaves Wintle and he's not ahead of him, Joel Colwill or Turnbull in the pecking order.

Another thing is that he was with Wales U21s and, although he didn't play, they weren't back until Thursday.

Yeah, fair point. I'd even maybe start him at Wrexham.

Yes if he had been on the bench it would have been a good game to come into ,obviously he is not on the bench at the moment so I was suggesting in the future, and he not likely to come onto the bench next week and straight on.

I have seen nothing to suggest he is ready for the rigors of L1 football.

He is 2 years and about 2 stone lighter than Joel Colwill. Nice little loan to a national league team should do him the power of good

He does seem a bit off this level at the moment, but he's still very young and will get stronger

Hopefully he gets some cup games, but I wouldn't want to risk another performance like he had in the league, we can't afford to mess this season up.

I’m confused.
