OSHO

just wondered what peoples thoughts are of Osho ?

I think this guy is terrible personaly, a loose cannon constant mistakes and big ones every game dosent look half the time he passes the ball.

there is glimpses of a decent defender in there, but at the moment it looks like luton have sent him to destriy us

I was so excited when he signed. Remembered seeing him for Luton in the PL and Championship and he was quality. Didn't see him at Auxerre, but by all accounts he was good.

But he's been a liability for us. So many basic mistakes made.

When we have Lawlor unavailable then I'd start Fish and Chambers - both very good today.

I’m hoping it’s just a confidence thing, but he’s looked terrible so far.

Doesn’t look the player he was a Luton, maybe that’s why he’s dropped so far down the leagues.

He could be a good footballer but as a defender he takes too many chances.
The errors he has made in the last two home matches are unforgivable and he deserves to be dropped.
Mind you, his replacement Fish made a similar back pass error within the first few minutes of the second half.
BBM needs to sort out these centre backs or it will cost us dearly.

People are just looking at a couple of instances that stand out? But he does a lot of interceptions and headers as well..... a lot of his mistakes comes from being isolated at back like today that back pass hit another player to be diveted to the reading player otherwise going to trott... generally our defending of goals leave a lot to be desired and its not all down to osho... the one thing we cannot do is defend out wide very rarely do we stop a player coming inside or put in a cross where most of our goals conceded come from... hoping as time progresses he'll learn to boot ball out if no help available instead of trying to do things himself.

He was better when bringing the ball out. In fact, he made a couple of good runs but the final ball or lack of runner didn't help. There's definitely a player there but I agree he seems to be too lackadaisical and his passing too often puts others in trouble. Hopefully he'll come good.

I agree with a lot of replies, there's definitely a player there but his confidence is shot.

He looks comfortable going forward and has a very good long pass, maybe a defensive midfielder roll would suit him.

He came from Luton guys, Luton !!!!!

Do you think he instructions were to believe you are Maldini, Moore, and Beckenbauer rolled into one? He is making crazy decisions that must be the game plan from BBM. BBM needs to wake up from this Pep imitation, as none of our players can do what he wants.

Great coming out with the ball and normally has a really good pass, i think the pen and back pass goal might be playing on his mind.

A liability, should not be in the squad imo

Re: OSHO

Clearly a good player - that doesn’t disappear overnight.
Has made a couple of errors and deserved to be subbed today. Hope it doesn’t hit his confidence.
Didn’t notice whether or not he came out for the players’ lap at the end.

I still think he would make a better number 6, he has all the ability going forward but looks a nervous wreck when the ball is played to him facing our own goal

Agree with the No 6 looks powerful driving forward :bluescarf:

Didn't he play in a back 3 at Luton? Having that freedom to play with an extra CB cover would definitely make a difference. Would probably suit his strengths more with his ability to bring the ball out.

Similar to NG you would play him as a RCB in a 3 but probably wouldn't play him as a CB in a 2.

As well as Chambers played today our best CB pairing for me is Lawlor and Fish and they balance well. Fish has to start as he gives us the physicality that none of the other 3 options have.

BBM was asked about Osho in his press conference. Journalist asked if it was just one of those games for him.

BBM said "I just don't think he played well."

Do you know what really helps? Fans on his back like just after that last back pass where Trott got him out.

WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE PEOPLE.

Yup, not helpful.

It becomes a big problem when he keeps repeating the errors of poor back passing and losing possession with only Trott to beat!
Once, you can forgive, but it's multiple times in the last 2 games.
He needs to come out of the team for a while and learn from his mistakes.
There is a very good player there, but he lets himself down.

Agree there is a very good player there, perhaps not suited as a centre half in this league. May be better playing in front of a back four breaking up play and then driving forward, which he can obviously do very well. His passing is good.

Hope the fans don't get on his back and piss him off as we may could lose a potential lynch pin in the Championship.

He made some VERY important 1on1, last man duel wins with the ball over the top (which Reading used at will - refreshing to see this tactic to be honest).

We only seem to focus on the bad though; which were bad and needed to get managed. Taking him off was fair.

Agree with you on the 1 on 1. Not only did he win them he came away with the ball on a few occasions and started going forward rather than pass it sideways. Cant excuse the pass to set up Reading which Trott saved but he made another mistake which was partly due to a poor throw in which put him under pressure just on half time. After that his confidence was shot and it was right to take him off.

I dont like his attitude to mistakes....whether it's nervous tension or what but smiling and laughing ?

Re: OSHO

I agree there is a player in there. It's the back pass thing. If in doubt woof it up the field

I think he is a good player but is lapse have nearly lost us a couple of games gets on the wrong side of the players he is marking if he sorts these problems out he will be ok he does good things untill he has these lapses but he never blames anybody else he gets quiet upset when he has made these mistakes but fair play to him he doesn’t dwell on it he gets on with it can’t fault his commitment
