Craig Bellamy's blunt admission as he explains what went wrong for Wales in England hammering
The Wales boss insists his side will benefit from what was a difficult night at Wembley

Wales boss Craig Bellamy admits he 'got his arse kicked' at Wembley - but insists their hammering at the hands of England on Thursday night will prove a valuable experience for his team.

Craig Bellamy:

"I believe we were just shocked," he said. "We didn't got that extra yard. We didn't press that extra yard and you can't do that against these types of teams. We looked laboured, and we cannot be that either.

"We just had to find something during the game, and it was a difficult one."

It was a chastening night for Wales, but Bellamy has no regrets about

"What makes us a good team, and what makes us not a good team? Stress, full house, full stadium, that's why it was so important to get this game because you will get tested, and you will get stressed.”

"It's why I wanted this game," he later continued. "We need to see where we are. We can play Lithuania if you want, and that's no disrespect to them, but then we'd have loads of the ball and then try to break them down.

"It's where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? Today, even now, just fills me with motivation.

"I look at England their physical profile, the speed, the duels. Of course, it helps when you've got a lot of players playing in the Champions League, the greatest competition in the world. But that's where you want our players to be. I want them to see this. I want them to feel that."

Fair comment in some respects but you could argue our tactics, mindset and line up weren't quite right.

That first 20 minutes was the worse I have seen an international team play.

The only thing you learn about that is to forget about it and go back to basics even though we should be further down the road from that.

I think everyone expected us to lose, coming up against a team who have been in the final of the last two Euros.

But the manner in how we lost was very concerning ahead of Monday, even though last night was just a friendly.

Going to have to have a lot more intensity to give ourselves a chance on Monday.

There are levels and we are below England.

We have seen us perform above the sum of our parts using the tactics we played last night. We can’t pick and choose. We either trust Bellamy or we don’t.

Bellers would have learned a lot about players and their attitude... the game wasn't about the result both him and tuchal wanted this game for different tactical reasons! Monday totally different
Game and shouldn't see same tactics team or formation against Belgium

Midfield of Cullen Brooks and Ampadu too weak
Needed workers not flair players or strikers

I don't think we are going to qualify or make play off to be honest and when Harris was brought on that really did make me think, wow. I thought Cullen was shocking and Johnson just does not turn up for Wales. Id love us to beat Belgium but just cannot see it happening though hope i am wrong big time

We're guaranteed to be in the play-offs because of the Nations League.

Still want to finish 2nd though (if we don't win the group) because that would give us a home play-off.
