England manager says he could only hear Wales fans

England manager Thomas Tuchel:


"The stadium was silent. Silent. We never got any energy back from the stands.

"I think the players delivered a lot to get more from the stands. It was difficult to keep everything going in the second half. We did excellent, we deserved to win.

"What more can you give them? Twenty minutes, three goals. The way we attacked Wales and we didn't let them escape.

"If you hear for half an hour [it was] just Wales fans. It's a bit sad because I think the team deserved big support."

Wembley new and old as never had good atmospheres best was us and Liverpool! Sounds daft but have ghe wrong crowds for internationals lots of youngsters and non football fans who are not noisy like club fans are.

He could hear our fans though so it seems he was just annoyed that the England fans weren't singing at all.

But I agree with your point. It's a great stadium to watch football in because the views are brilliant but no good for atmosphere.

Really they should play their home friendlies in other stadiums like Villa Park, Emirates, St James's Park etc.
