A few thoughts from me

Been away seeing friends since Sunday, so not been on the forum.

Also didn't see the Newport game but here are a few thoughts.


I have seen people replying to Annie's view on the match and saying it doesn't matter because it's the Vertu Trophy - I don't buy that. We want to win every game.

We were happy to beat Exeter and Burnley so we can't decide we're not bothered just because we lost.

Yes we had a lot of young players in the squad but there were senior players who should be capable of beating the worst team in the EFL.

It's a dreadful result and stats suggest Newport deserved it.



However, I'm not going to judge BBM on the back of that. I believe he has enough credit in the bank because of our league position.

But people will understandably get worried if we have a couole of bad results in October.


Lastly, I think the international break has come at a good time for us. We clearly need a bit of a break to work on individual mistakes (for the players not away with their countries). Hopefully can hit the ground running after, starting with the Reading game.

All football fans are "entitled", it's part of the M.O. But we are really encroaching on dilussional arrogance.

We are an L1 club with 9 squad members unavailable playing an L2 at home in a local derby, but with a full complement to choose from, we lose 1-0, and it's almost the end of the world!!!!

Not sure if BBM is the real deal. He is a great developer of talent, I think even his detractors can't deny that. Only Salech and Turnbull have looked poorer than last season, whilst others are unrecognisable.

My question is whether he can swallow his philosophy and change it up to do whatever it takes to win. But it's only a quarter away into the season, so I'm not remotely concerned at the moment.

Neds contribution to this forum isn't being questioned, he works incredibly hard to keep this forum going and I say well done to him.

I disagree with his opinions on many subjects but we always have a good friendly debate. His opinion or "content" on this thread isn't under question from me, read my original reply.

As you well know as a regular poster, I always put my view across after a game in a thread.

I would also argue that this is making several points.

When I merged a thread after Burton, it was because there was one thread called "Tinkerman BBM" and the new thread was wholely also about that subject.

Whereas, for example, your thread about Salech was deserving of it's own thread.

I will continue to do things the way I always have.

As for someone above saying that I think I'm important, well they couldn't be further from the truth and anyone who knows me would ssy the same.

Apologies if my post came across as trying to provoke a reaction, it's not how I intended it to be. Maybe it could have been written better and TBH I was a bit p155ed off at the time of writing it due to the needless abuse I had on my Salech thread.
