I am shocked Ramsey is injured Time has caught up with him unfortunately for him. We need to move on from him in my opinion unless he shows he can play maybe 20 matches without injury he will only be a liability for. welsh squad
Shame such a great player for Wales in the past

that's what I've been saying he was a great player for Wales but every player no matter how good has to hang the boots up at some point

it would be better for his health if he focuses on club football until he retires from playing

he clearly can't do club and international anymore with his injury record

I agree Totally time to move on from Ramsey, injury prone and the last couple of years past it.

Was a great player

International friendly: England v Wales

Venue: Wembley Stadium, London Date: Thursday, 9 October Kick off: 19:45 BST

Coverage: Live on S4C, BBC Radio Wales, Radio Cymru, BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds, the BBC Sport website and app, plus live text commentary.

Aaron Ramsey has withdrawn from Wales' squad for a friendly with England on Thursday and next week's World Cup qualifier against Belgium through injury.

The 34-year-old midfielder was left out of the Pumas UNAM side for Sunday's 2-1 Liga MX defeat against Guadalajara, with reports in Mexico stating he had suffered "discomfort" during training on Thursday.

Wales boss Craig Bellamy has added Cardiff City's Isaak Davies and Rubin Colwill to his squad to replace Ramsey and Leeds United winger Dan James, who withdrew last week.

Colwill, 23, joins brother Joel in Bellamy's selection and, along with 24-year-old Davies, takes the number of Cardiff players in the 26-strong squad to five.

Former Arsenal player Ramsey was recalled for this international window by Bellamy having not played international football since sustaining a hamstring injury during his country's Nations League win in Montenegro in September 2024.

Ramsey, who missed five months of Cardiff's relegation campaign because of last season's injury, joined Pumas in the summer and has played six games for the Mexico City-based side, scoring once.

He has suffered a long list of leg problems during a 19-year career which has also taken in Juventus and Nice, and his latest withdrawal will be a blow Bellamy who said last week "there's still football in Ramsey".

Wales' head coach will have been watching with interest - and some trepidation - over the weekend as his players performed for their clubs prior to the international window.

Other than Ramsey, there was better news for Bellamy as he prepares for the friendly against Thomas Tuchel's side at Wembley on Thursday, 9 October before Wales host Belgium in a World Cup qualifier at Cardiff City Stadium the following Monday.

Robin Git? :? :laughing6:

Personally, I think Rubin could do with a rest, but it proves a point that Craig Bellamy doesn’t have an ‘agenda’ with him; Rubin is just behind some good players who (maybe) suit his system better?

I think playing England is a bonus for those involved though, and with Rambo coming to the end of his career, Rubin will have opportunities to stake a claim! :ayatollah:

Both unlikely to get significant minutes. Both will significantly benifit from the experience.

Well done both, huge news for them.
