" Terrible result and too many missed chances "

Tue Sep 30, 2025 8:44 pm

Terrible result tonight.

We should have had that game wrapped up by half time. So many big chances and they were wasted.

The longer it went on, Burton gained confidence and took their opportunity.

Yes I know Salech's goal should have stood but we can't blame the referee. We had enough chances.

Second half we chose the wrong option. Too many fouls.

I have no issue with the style like some do. But our players made the wrong decisions too many times.

It's a second home league defeat in a row which is concerning.

But I do believe we will get it right.

Big game on Saturday against Orient, we have to bounce back.

How many games this campaign have we not been at the races and still got a result?
Bound to happen to us at some point.

On to the next one. :ayatollah:

Horrible result and the kind of game you have to win if you want to finish in the top 2

A lot of work to be done on the training ground this week as we need to bounce back Saturday

No pace from either wing cost us.
We needed to get behind them . We couldn't.

Having two pens and goal disallowed, not to mention blatant push at the end didn't help.

We can't blame the referee.

He was awful but we had the chances to win that and just didn't take them.

Awful ref but gutless in attack.

Only have ourselves to blame really.

We virtually play two wingers each side at times when the full back is up there with the winger and we still only crosss it in 1 in 19 times if that even if there 5 in the box or we can't get beyond there full back so tap it about out wide for ten minutes and it repeats. We have one style of play that's it but we are not man city. Pathetic finishing tonight cost us most could see what was coming.

Awful tonight and as I feared I don’t feel we’ll have enough to challenge.

There is nothing there up top to see us through. It like we have been sussed and we have no plan B.

That was as bad as anything last season. We were awful, slow, slow, slow and slow. Let's not be whining about the disallowed goal, that was turgid and a few of us saw it coming at half time unless we bucked our ideas up, but we didn't & got what we deserved.

If we can't beat a team bottom of the league & without a win in 8 then we have much bigger problems than just getting the ball in the box.

So much for all the predictions of us battering them.

Musnt forget they had just as many good chances .... style of play is OK but got to have alternatives we did not vary play for whole game? If it didn't work 1st half it had good chance it wouldn't 2nd half so it turned out.... will say Willock is not suitable as a winger his crossing is poor as is his decision making he did same thing all game try beat a defender with minimal succes so much wasted opportunities to pressure them in area

They parked the bus and got away with it. Classic freak result that no one expects. City are a young team. Still lots to learn. BBM need to cut out that extra pass. Its not incisive or quick enough. But let's not over react. City were great last week beating Burnley and Wigan. Go again this Saturday

It's not the style of play but we have to move the ball quicker against teams in a low block.

The style is not going to change.

We play too many passes across the box and end up getting in each other’s way. Rubin had a horror show of a game tonight. Goal should have stood and that push on Salech at the end was just ridiculous in not being given but overall we didn’t do enough to win it.

Over reaction. These things sometimes happen in football when a team.parks the bus. They'll get pumped playing like that most weeks.

I completely agree, everything was in front of them, we had no threat in behind! Neither of our wingers can beat a man and deliver a cross and they’re not scoring forwards either. For me this is our huge achilles heel

Stopped playing just before half time
Had no answer for a team that parked the bus really.
Got to take your chances salech should of scored two .
Young team Got to learn but that's a bad result that is
They just mopped every thing up to slow to pedestrian after a good start to the game and we just stopped playing.
Got to get behind and cross beat your man but didn't and turnbull and Rubin well just not in it really .
Gonna have to learn how to draw teams out and take those chances .
Gutted should of been winning that thats two home games lost now

spineless ref who allowed time wasting from the first wintle and blatant red card when their player caught the ball in his hands

but in all honesty we were terrible especially second half

there was no urgency until the 8mins added time went up and even then it was just wayward passes

lots of work to do

That was so frustrating to watch, it’s all good having possession but no good if there’s no end product. The Ref was terrible though he constantly got in the players way. I can’t see what was wrong with Salech’s goal, and every decision went against him. We also had a few penalty shouts, which the ref looked the other way. Burton done a good job of everyone behind the ball, some dirty defensive tactics, and a scrappy goal to beat us. Hope we don’t have many of those games, on to the next one.

I hope you're right but we've been very lucky too many times already this season. That was just piss poor & if you think that's an over reaction then so be it.

Ned,

Little Burton had not Win a league game for 8 matches and were rock bottom of this 3rd Division.

No excuses tonight

I’ve enjoyed many games this season many so far :bluebird:

I do think BBM Tinkers to much

Shocking result for Us against a team - Bottom /out of form before KO and not scored a goal in their last 5 league games .
