Absolute nonsense.

I agree, absolute nonsense. Should have won comfortably. That disallowed goal was disgraceful.
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:10 pm
I don’t think we been worked out, we just need to be more clinical. Look at how we played after being done by Bradford, we totally dominated Wigan. I think we rely a bit to much on Rubin though and need a back up to him because when he doesn’t play well we seem to suffer.
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:10 pm
Premier league Burnley and Wigan didn't work us out last week. Stop over reacting. They parked the bus, rode their luck and we were not at it. It happens with a young team
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:11 pm
On another night we win that 4-0 we're just not ruthless enough, also wintle and turnbull can't play together it's just to slow in there
No need to panic or over react let's see what happens Saturday
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:16 pm
This team will stick together as well. They will take it on the chin, move on, train hard this week and onto the next game. They will learn from this one, and will be more prepared the next time a team comes and parks the bus which could be Saturday coming.

Salech could and should've had a hatrick without the disallowed goal 3 headers missed or saved.
Bagan missed a sitter from a rebound.
Ashford shot straight at the keeper either side of the keeper was a goal.
Willock had two decent efforts on target saved by the keeper.
Lawlor had a chance with a header right at the end.
I've probably missed a few more...
On another night we score 6 or 7, they hardly worked us out our finishing was very poor though.
I thought Rubin had a mare tonight though and he's been off it the last few games now.
Disappointed with the result but we had enough chances to win two games of football. Not time to panic.
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:21 pm
Maybe this game shows we need a bit more quality in certain positions to come in.
We played some good football and like said about we could of scored 3-5. Its not like the Bulut and Riza days were we were happy to get 2 shots in a match

A disappointing night, Ned; but agree with you; not time to slate or panic!

Let's be fair, We played them off the park. Pure smash and grab. Gutting result but it's the way she goes sometimes. Proper gut punch but on we go
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:33 pm
We havent, but there are some issues..
For me, Turnbull and Wintle cannot play together. Too similair. Slow and not pragmatic.
NG and Ashford aren't pairing well. Neither are Willock and Bagan. Willock and Ashford were past their man several times tonight for the ball to end up back with Fish and Lawlor. Not good enough.
Colwill is too slow to get in the box. Id love to see him replace Wintle or Turnbull slightly deeper. A few times tonight, Salech dragged and made space and even made crosses and Rubin was way off pace. Robbo or even Ashford in this space would help.
Finally... just get direct when we can. Once we did it in the last 8 mins and Salech won it with ease against two... no support.
An awful awful loss tonight for a team delighted to take a draw.

It's very easy to overreact and let anger get the better of you after a result like that tonight.
But when you lay it all out like you just did, I think you are spot on. We were just f#$king awful infront of goal and we gotta move on and not dwell on it. Like you said, we did enough to win 2 football matches there tonight but lost! Defo need, want and expect a reaction on Saturday thought.
Come on BBM, dust those boys down and go again. Consider this side note though - Salech missed 3 headers tonight. Had you got your boys to put just 3 extra crosses in over the course of those 90 minutes, do you reckon he would have missed another 3? #just saying
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:34 pm
Maybe Lawlor should think before he makes stupid comments about us walking the league. All this standing on the ball thinking we are some super team. We were so bloody slow with the build up. First 20 minutes I thought we were doing OK, moving them about, but after that we slowed it down to snails pace. The best chances we had were when the ball was crossed and Salech got on the end of 3 or 4 chances as well as laying the ball off to others. Yes he should have done better than he did but all this tight passes on the edge of the box does nothing when the other team just park the bus. We must start using crosses more than we do or we will suffer more results like tonight that could cost us promotion. I had a feeling that tonight was gonna go tits up.

I'm 50/50 on this. There were signs both tonight and against Bradford that both teams set out with a plan that worked against us. Yes we could have scored a few on another day but Burton aren't a quality team, they just had a very good plan and eventually it worked.
Orient on Saturday is a huge game, let's see if BBM does have a plan b if things aren't going our way.
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:55 pm
We created eight big chances.
Don't tell me it's the style that's the problem because that's bonkers.
Tue Sep 30, 2025 9:59 pm
The last two games we won and everyone saying how great we are this message board.
We lose night, and now the comments about the cracks are appearing, and we have been worked out.
BS - Burton parked the bus and got lucky, end of!
Let’s move on, because another day we would have smashed them.

Teams have worked us out a bit now, parking the bus with eleven behind the ball and just trying to frustrate. BBM’s got to mix it up, the little triangles and lay-offs around the box are getting blocked too easily. Not time to panic though, just something we’ve got to improve if we’re going to push on.
Wed Oct 01, 2025 7:25 am
Burton never had a plan b. They just sat back soaked up the pressure and hoped to get a lucky goal, and it worked.
We went a little flat in the second half and the substitutes never really helped. In fact the game probably suffered from the substitutes. Rubin was burned out for the last 15 and not as effective and he probably should have been substituted.
We created plenty but need to be clinical. Players also will get burned out as we are playing a lot of games. We have probably played 3 more games than burton with the cup run and them having a game in hand over us.
It's a blip and we will be in a good place come the end of the season

Burton didn't need a plan B cos plan A was working.
Agree that Reuben and a few others are knackered due to the schedule but that's what happens when you have a small squad.

I agree with that

Meltdown over one result...worked out lol
Wed Oct 01, 2025 8:14 am
Theres no real melt down, that’s an over reaction to say it is.
When a team parks the bus for 90 minutes and we keep trying to pass through 10 players, and it isn’t working…. We need to mix it up.
It’s all about adapting, and we didn’t last night.
I’m sure it’s lesson learnt and next time we will mix it up if it isn’t working.

Last night was a frustrating horrible watch.
I'm still angry over that performance and our lack of ability to take our chances. I feel all other teams are going to play the same against us at CCS and my fear is we will struggle to come over the problem. For me Salech has become a big disappointment, he tries hard but he has been bullied which is surprising. The most frustrating player for me is R Colwill who just has no consistency which is why he finds himself dropped from the Welsh squad. Its going to take some management skill to get us back on track.

Back on track?
Come on, we’ve hardly been on awful run.
Agree that Colwill is very inconsistent tho.

Disappointing yes!
However, compared to the disaster of last season, we have had a good start in general and we should remember we are a team in rebuild and obviously not the finished product yet.
Give the manager and this young squad a chance to grow and don't expect too many miracles too soon.
Wed Oct 01, 2025 11:22 am
Because of the good start we've had most teams who come here are going to put 10 men behind the ball, it's up to BBM to work a way around it.

He worked it out last night. We created eight big chances, more than in any other game this season, but we just didn't take them.
People can use their agendas all they want, but this is a fact.
