Twelve games and one loss ?

Sun Sep 28, 2025 7:21 am

So, we always say that we will make judgements after 12 games. We said we will wait to see how we respond to a loss. It has been a long time since we have seen us play this way. It is clearly still work in progress but surely we are all happy?

Can’t fault the way BBM has approached this situation he found himself in. Talks very well, the players are on board, brilliant to see.

Great start to the season - not just the League results but also those Cup games :bluebird:

Fantastic start to a long season.
Yes I do think we’ve ridden our luck at times, but you could say that’s a mark of a decent team, picking up points when playing badly.
My only real concern with BBM is our reluctance to get crosses in and our preference to turn and pass backwards. Especially frustrating when we have a centre forward who’s prepared to get his head on the end of it. The possession stats against Wigan were crazy yet we had very similar attempts. We are not Man City…

You can say we're not Man City all you like but that's how we're going to play, and it won't change.

Worcester you need to take a lot of credit as you stuck by murphy when he arrived where a lot including me were sceptable but understandably so ,
but we have reache'd the point where fans make there decision and I would have thought we have seen enough to make an informed choice,
I am after seeing every game this season, bar swindon in the happy keep murphy camp the best we have played since Dave jones .
I am sure there will not be many if any, in the get rid camp.

Without sounding like a broken record, this tippy tappy sideways shit and players refusing to cross the damn thing into the box, will just like tonight bite us. Possession doesn’t win you feck all.

And if he doesn’t change it we will be losing a lot more games

No. Because the style wasn't the problem tonight.

Last four league games

Four points from our last 12 points against some pretty poor opposition

Second thread you've posted that on so I'll say it again.

Beat Wigan, their first home defeat.

Drew at Stockport. Finished 3rd last season and their manager has never finished outside the top six.

Lost to Bradford. Top of the league.

Yes tonight was a poor result but let's not try and re-write history.

I would like to know if the players are being coached to not put in crosses and to try and pass the ball around on the edge of the box and walk the ball in the net, or do they think that they can play like Man City. We have quite a few players who have got a decent shot but none of them seem to want to have a pop from outside the box, bloody fuming last night when players were getting in one another's way.

Last night:

32 crosses.

Also six shots from outside the box. Difficult to shoot from outside the box when the opposition have so many players blocking the goal.

So this is another argument that doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

It's obvious that the issue was not taking our chances. But people have decided to make it about an issue that's not there for some reason.
