PLAYER RATINGS v Wigan Athletic (away)

Sat Sep 27, 2025 6:24 pm

Nathan Trott 7
Made a strong save to deny Christian Saydee in the first half from point-blank range. Wasn't massively troubled but did well enough.

Perry Ng 8
Another top outing from the defender. Linked up really well with Rubin Colwill to score the opener and defended well, too. Big afternoon for the right back.

Calum Chambers 8
Picked up from where he left off at Burnley. Excellent in possession, tiring out the Latics forwards, and flawless in defence.

Gabriel Osho 8
Had to use his strength and pace on more than one occasion to keep Cardiff's goal unpenetrated.

Joel Bagan 8
That left foot is a real weapon when speedsters like Cian Ashford are ahead you. Linked up well with him and put in a nice cross for Salech which almost went in. Another faultless performance from the left-back.

Ryan Wintle 8 (star man)
A really important cog in this Cardiff wheel. Made sure Wigan breakaways were stopped at source and kept play ticking, too. Came into his own when Wigan started chasing the game.

Joel Colwill 7
Displayed that trademark engine which is now an important part in how Cardiff play. Dominated that right-hand side of midfield. Quieter after the break.

Rubin Colwill 7
Produced some outrageous touches to set up chances and release wide players. Instrumental in Ng's goal, playing a lovely one-two. Poked inches wide right at the death.

Cian Ashford 8
Backed up a great performance at Burnley with a marvellous outing today. Was electric down that left flank and caused the defenders all sorts of both.

Callum Robinson 7
Didn't have a mountain of chances but linked up play really nicely with those around him and made some clever runs. Taken off.

Isaak Davies 7
Got his start and showed why, fizzing in some dangerous crosses and linking well with Ng. Quietened down a little later on and was subbed.

Subs

Chris Willock (on for Davies 64) 6
Booked for time wasting but generally kept the ball nicely.

Yousef Salech (on for Robinson 64) 7
Won the penalty and then slotted it home in the 96th minute.

Dylan Lawlor (on for Chambers 74) 6
Won a couple of headers and his passing allowed Cardiff to get out from the back.

David Turnbull (on for Joel Colwill 74) 6
Another who won the odd foul. Had a long-range effort saved.
