BBM : “ ISAAK DAVIES “

Thu Sep 25, 2025 2:59 pm

I have said for 6 years Isaak Davies best position is out wide:

BBM:

“Isaak Davies, he’s blown me away, really, in terms of what he’s done in training and the potential that we see within him,” said Barry-Murphy.

“His attitude is incredible. I was aware of his potential but also of his complexities in terms of injuries. He’s really a central striker doing a job for us out wide.”

“His pace and his runs are what we need.”

“He is the player of the highest potential and I’m sure he will fulfil it when he gets that confidence and extended run in the team.”

Barry-Murphy also underlined the importance of managing the Welshman carefully, given the explosive nature of his game.

“The reason I’m speaking so much about him is you can see that dedication to his game. He’s had setbacks but he understands what’s needed.”

“I do think he’s unique. Everything he does is at full tilt — his speed is extraordinary and his ability to repeat sprints is extraordinary.

“We have to be mindful, protecting him and not treating him exactly the same as other players, because he is an extraordinary speed athlete.”

Davies, who has been with Cardiff since the age of seven, has already caught the eye this season and is pushing hard for his first league start of the campaign as City prepare for the trip to Wigan Athletic this weekend.

I agree Annis. He’s too small as a striker in this setup. To me he’s a natural winger. And we need a player like this.

These comments give more of an idea as to why he hasn't started yet.

This manager clearly has an idea of how to manage the minutes of people like Davies, Kellyman etc because of past injuries.

It’s nice to hear, especially after the last few seasons where managers have rushed players back too soon, only for them to pick up another long-term injury. Rambo might have been able to make a much greater impact under BBM if handled differently.

Isaak Davies - Like others has a big part to play this season out wide - with Salech or Robbo as our main strikers .

Would love to see him start tomorrow as he gives us a threat in behind that others don’t. As time goes by would like to see him and Kellyman on either wing as that would give us a different dimension

Add Wintle, Ruben, and Joel in midfield and Robinson upfront, and we would be a different team completely, with a lot of energy and pace.

We can have two teams with substitutions every half.
