Here is one of the last photographs taken of Ninian Park which was the former home of Welsh side
Cardiff City
Opened in 1910 with a single wooden stand, it underwent numerous renovations during its lifespan and hosted fixtures with over 60,000 spectators in attendance @ At the time of the ground closing in 2009, it had a capacity of 21,508

Loved the place but that picture makes me feel sad, it just looks neglected.

The pitch looks like Stamford Bridge in the 60's and 70's. Hardly a blade of grass to be seen.

Still miss that place. It was my introduction to football, Bovril and pies.

Lump in the throat anytime you see photo’s of it like that.
I remember in and around our promotion season in 2003, players used to run out to Elevation by U2.
Never forget those days on the bob bank.
