I may get some pushback on this but is it time to play Robinson over Salech?
Salech is not scoring as we thought he would. He is also looking increasingly frustrated about the lack of protection from referees - that's not a complaint about the officials, it's something he has to deal with.
Robinson on the other hand, did quite well when he came on yesterday. He has two goals in his last two.
I would not be surprised to see Robinson start over Salech at Wigan.

Play both and drop Ashford

I think he needs a rest anyway he's taken some beatings already this season
plus if we are struggling in a game and need to go route one I think he's the perfect striker to bring on late
I think cr47 has earned a start

I’m a little shocked to hear you say that Worcester. But I think Robinson definitely needs to be playing more he brings so much to our team, his winning mentality how the others look up to him. I would like to see Murphy find a way to bring the most out of both of them. For me he our most potent striker.

Absolutely not. Just get our players to cross the ball rather than faff around with it outside the area.

My thoughts exactly. Plays so well with his back to goal; often with no city player near him.

Exactly! He's 6ft 4 not 1ft 4 ? Put the ball in box quicker and more frequently we are not man.c but bbm thinks we are.... said yesterday why ate we playing him if dont give him the service he requires..... fighting defenders 40yrds out is not the job he's been bought for..... but this as gone on all season score 3 times with head 6yrds out not rocket science.... he's not a erling haaland Man c ability.

This is exactly my issue, Salech holds the ball up so we'll gets good flick ons but is so isolated we struggle to benefit from his hard work which is why I'd try and get robbo into the team along side him I think it would reap its rewards

No chance, he scored goals in the championship so he will easily score in div 3 just play to his strengths.

some have mentioned on another thread about going 352 and having both up top
I think that could work,
it would also help with the dilemma of which CBs to play coz we could have lawlor, fish and osho together too but dunno where it would leave bagan and kpakio who have both played well so far

He must be so frustrated with the lack of service. We rarely cross the ball in. Yesterday he hit the bar and set Turnbull up for a good chance on a couple of occasions we did put ball in the box. Definitely our best striker and he can't be blamed for lack of goals.

I agree with you, he puts in the hard work for the team. I’d be very surprised if BBM dropped him, as he’s the key piece in our attack, holding the ball up with his back to goal. I think he’ll keep his spot and play his way back into form over the coming months with BBM’s support.

Time to give the ball to Salech and he will score

Who plays on the wing then though?
Sun Sep 21, 2025 1:58 pm
Jesus no!!!
There is no out ball at all with Robinson; he continually turns the ball over when he has his back to the goal. He is an instinctive striker, very good when its all on instinct, when he has time, he generally scuffs or pulls the shot.
With that in mind i think Robbo will start midweek.
The issue with Salech is that we hold onto the ball for an eternity. 60% yesterday, so by the time the ball crawls towards him, he has three around him. I wish we would mix it up, but BBM has he system, we wear teams down.
I look to the DNA of this system in Pep and Haland or Marmoosh barely touch the ball for large segments of the game.
In BBM we trust

Well it clearly can't be Salech and a lot of Robinson's career has been from inside left. Who change formation to 2 strikers
Both options and for me it would be good to see them both in the team

Trouble is he's not anywhere as good as those two yet! We need to play him as a natural centre forward and play ball in air for him within 10yds of goal not him playing 40yrds out from goal looking to pick ball up from midfield?
Sun Sep 21, 2025 2:27 pm
If we are not going to play to Salechs strengths then we may aswell drop him.
Sun Sep 21, 2025 2:51 pm
On another day he could have had a goal and an assist as he hit the bar and set up Turnbull for a shot that he should have scored from.
Sun Sep 21, 2025 2:57 pm
We need to put more crosses into the box for Salech. The amount of times the winger or full back has a yard or 2 to put a cross in but decides to play an extra pass isn't helping him at all.
Robinson doesn't hold the ball up or win aerial battles the way Salech does, he's not a lone striker for me. He did play well yesterday when he came on though.
Sun Sep 21, 2025 2:59 pm
I’d like to see them both. Robinson was quality when he came on but doesn’t bring everything Salech does. The both of them might form a brilliant partnership.

What a stupid question. We are lucky to have him the service or lack of it is the problem. Until we get wingers with pace who can actually beat the fullback I feel for him. He works 100% harder than Robinson.

I agree about both in the team, although it didnt work on the few attempts last season.
I think Rubin may either have to go out wide or out of the team if Robbo comes in. Ashford needs to be dropped though.
Its a tricky one

I think there's a case to push Chambers in front of the back 4
Hes done OK in the past.
We are being out muscled in games

I disagree not a stupid question at all, I think Worcester put forward a very good talking point. I’m more shocked how quick Worcester turning against Murphy only been 8 and one defeat in the league. Need a few more games before we start panicking.

I don't think anyone is turning on bbm in fact I think it's the first time in forever there hasn't been hysterical outbursts when weve lost a game and instead actual proper decent debate, long may it continue lol

This is a bit ott, after one loss. Salech is playing great he'll never score loads in this system we don't cross the ball for him he's the hold up man. No need to change anything yet

I'm not turning on the manager at all, just raising this question about Robinson/Salech.
As for people saying we don't put in enough crosses, I don't know why people expect us to put in loads of crosses. That's not our style of play, especially at home.
That much has been obvious since BBM took over.

Absolutely
Its refreshing that we question what happened. I'll be honest, I am all in on BBM, but as a bloke in his mid 50's, I haven't got a clue what he wants/expects the wide forwards to do. Some of his subs baffle me, but i have no idea what's happening in the physio's room.
I love the football debates as i learn what the hell this system is all about. Its fun to watch though
