Kpakio injury

Sat Sep 20, 2025 5:33 pm

Brian Barry-Murphy:

“Ronan had an issue with his heel which we’ll get scanned tomorrow.

I don’t know how serious or not it is. It’s a slight concern for me.”

He was as bad today as he was for Wales on his debut. He is not a full back, and never will be. I thought NG played really when he came on, and should be our regular right back, as Kpakio wanders too much, and is invariably caught out of position.

Totally disagree he had a bad game today true, but he's been rock solid all season

I think he will end up being a winger sooner or later he has all the makings of one

Me too. I wanted (pre injury) to push him onto Ashford's role and bring on NG

I was disappointed when he didn’t come out for second half , I think he adds quality and positive attacking play , hope it’s not serious cos he will be missed

Is he not a modern-day wingback?

He appears to me to be more comfortable hugging the line than Cian Ashford, where he has the advantage of being on the correct foot.

I disagree, he is a modern attacking fullback. He is clearly being told to invert at times to add an extra body in midfield which inevitably means he will be caught out of position at times. Yes he has some work ons defensively but to say he will never be a full back seems harsh to me

Agree with this...I see Ronan very much a modern day wingback....great energy

Really good point. It is probably under instruction.

Part of the defence that hasn’t conceded from open play.

Been class.

I totally agree. With Lalwer and Kapacio, we mostly don't concede any goals, while with Osho and NG, it was three.

To be fair to Ng, he was only on the pitch for one of the goals conceded on Saturday.
