Brian Barry-Murphy said the decision to pull Omari Kellyman off after 35 minutes in the win over Exeter City was pre-planned as they wanted to avoid any "risk" of overdoing it on his Cardiff City debut.
“We have to be careful and take it slowly with him.”
Kellyman endured a nightmare first season at Chelsea last season following a £19m move from Aston Villa. The playmaker suffered two bad hamstring injuries, the last of which saw him undergo surgery in March - and he hadn't played a competitive game since.
